Winbind, Kerberos, SSH and Single Sign On
Hi, at first I'm not sure if this is the correct list to ask this question. But since I'm using winbind I hope you can help me. I try to realize a kerberized ssh from one client to another. Both clients are member of subdom2.subdom1.example.de and joined to it. The users are from example.de, where subdom1.example.de is a subdomain (bidirectional trust) of example.de and

Samba 2.2.7 - client computer can NOT log IN.
Hello All! Any of our workstations who try and log into the domain receive the following Windows error: "The system cannot log you on to this domain because the system's computer account in its primary domain is missing or the password on that account is incorrect". Ok, good enough... If I check the smbpasswd file I can see the machine account and it is also in passwd. So I

.Renviron for multiple hardwares...
Our lab has a lot of different unix boxes, with different hardware, and I'm assuming (perhaps wrongly) that by setting a per-user package installation directory, the packages will only work on one type of hardware. Our systems are all set up to share the same home directory (and, thus, the same .Renviron file) -- so, is there a way to set, in the .Renviron file, per-computer or

Function address causes a protection fault.
Hello all. I'm using a HP Office Jet K80 on a RedHat 7.3, kernel 2.4.18-3, using the USB port and Samba 2.2.3a. I've installed the new driver to support usb printing, namely HPOJ-0.80. I can use lpr <filenames with.ps> and it prints fine, also a test page from printconf-tui is no problem. So the Linux side seems to be fine. When I try set up the printer on the windows machine, I

Bug [1.1rc5]: Crash during "CPU architecture changed" index upgrade
Hello List, We just migrated from a PPC Xserve to an Intel Xserve. I used "rsync" to bring everyone's home directories over, and in the back of my mind wondered about how it would handle the binary index files... only one way to find out! :) Once I tried to login to IMAP, I got the following results: May 6 19:46:48 posh dovecot[1169]: IMAP(cabel): Rebuilding index file

upper and lower case filenames
Hello, i have a great problem with copying files via smbmount and smbclient. In my source-directory on computer1 i have the files sei001 with size 100 bytes and SEI001 with size 200 bytes. After copy these files to computer2 in the destination directory there only SEI001 with the size of 100 bytes has arrived. Samba does the following: It copies the file SEI001 to the destination and then

pam_winbind causing local user login failures on 3.0.23c ... and a couple of other things
All, I'm currently running a CentOS 4.4 x86_64 server and wanted to have single-signon for Active Directory users on my domain. CentOS 4.4 comes with Samba 3.0.10-1.4E.9, which ends up filling my logs with messages related to the BUILTIN users/groups. I have a few local user accounts on the server for testing, etc. Since issues related to winbind and BUILTIN users/groups have recently been

Hi, I just installed Samba 3.0.4 on a Solaris 2.6 server. I had no problem compiling, intalling and configuring it, and everything seems to go OK. smbfs makes other processes hang
Hi! I have some problem with samba. The problem concerns the smbfs kernel module and smbmount. Smbfs makes other processes "hang". The only thing to do is to reboot the computer, not even "Kill -9" works. I use a Linux system with the Redhat 7.2 distribution. It runs on a AMD 500 K6-2 processor with a memory of 192MB. The kernel is an unmodified 2.4.9-31 from Redhat. I have
