Multiple Adapter Issues
List,
I've got samba on a multihomed machine and only want it to listen on
one adapter (as well as loopback) so here's what my smb.conf file has:
# Security Settings ============================================
# Only listen on specified interfaces
  bind interfaces only = yes
# Only listend on these interfaces (eth0, lo)
  interfaces 10.0.0.0/255.255.255.0 127.0.0.0/255.255.255.0

can someone PLEASE tell me how to mount a share with all stuff world
Ok, on local machine, everyone can do anything they want in /share and all
it's files/subdirs
On remote machine, everyone can do whatever they want on /share, but no one
can do ANYTHING in it's subdirs.

SV: SV: Problem regarding installation
OK! I'm sorry about this. As I wrote earlier I'm totally lost... but I will
try to
explain the problem in steps bellow, ok.
1. I installed the rpm's for samba, Version 2.0.2a-ssl I think this is the
version
   distributed with redhat linux 7.0
2. Then I changed the parameters in the /etc/samba/smb.conf file,
and in this file I added the folowing parameters.

are being offered by the server. You can check also what shares are being
offered by the windows boxes the same way.
I wonder why the other windows machines are not showing up in network
neighborhood? Try sharing some things between windows machines. Maybe you
have something misconfigured on the windows side.
There is a script, findsmb, which comes with samba. First turn off nmbd

job fails to print via samba 2.2.6-pre1 - lpd ASCII a nd postscript test works fine...
Ah, it appears that I have confused myself...
I indeed have ALL of the queues defined as JetDirect with the model
specific driver selected in printconf.
With this combination I am telling linux to modify the job [via the filter]
and then pass it as a RAW [jetdirect] where I SHOULD just have the queue
define as JetDirect with a RAW as the driver and let the job go as
transmitted by the client

Hello Joel,
Thank you very much for your reply.
I tried use the same print command under UNIX as I
have in sam.conf, it works well.
Do you have any futher ideas? BTW, could you tell me
where I find docs about print using Samba2.2.2 and
W2K?
Thanks a lot,
Grace

What happens when you print a postscript file from the
samba server directly
using the same print command as you have in smb.conf?

Hi Richard;
Are you doing the operations on these files from the MPE prompt, or are you
in the posix shell at the time of the edit/pipe, whatever? And what MPE
filetype are you working on? Problem is that samba

smbd and nmbd
Hi.
I'm getting messages to the effect:
Inetd: /usr/local/samba/lib/nmbd: Hangup
Last messages repeat 319 times
I start samba from inetd. Should I be starting it as a daemon or starting
it in init.d? If starting it as a daemon in in init.d, does someone have a
script that can let me use? I'm running samba on an a Sun E450, with
Solaris 2.7. Thanks.

RE smbmounts hang around after windows client disconnects
Joel,
Just so you know you are not alone - I had exact same problem the other day.
I was confused because it had successfully copied the 1Gb of files and then
hung during disconnection. Windows source was a 2000 server.
I realised afterwards that I had not compiled 2.2.2 --with-smbmount and was
using the RH installed version (Version 2.0.6) but have yet tried it again.

pre-/postexec in printers-section
Hi,
after updating our printserver from Samba V2.0.6 to V2.2.7 I encountered the
following problem.
Samba does not execute the (root) pre- and postexec within the printers
section.
If you are using these command in another section everything works fine.
Does anybody know if these command are not supported in the printers section
anymore?

   load printers = yes

I connect my homedir from the testserver and start Lotus Notes.
Lotus Notes is infamous for it's sensitivity for 'non-optimal' network
connections. Notes tries to lock certain files and complains immediately if
that fails.

Printing - "lprm command" not getting executed
I am attempting to get printing services for Windows 2000 clients working
with Samba on a Red Hat 7.2 box. The problem is I can not cancel print jobs
(either from a PC or the local smb client). File sharing, and printing
other than this problem, work fine.
Here is a listing of configuration and system info: 1) the samba packages
installed, 2) output of "uname -a", 3) the

for this process is "root", that is correct. The PID 7247 is one of the
users, but the UID shouldn't be "root" and should be the username that was
authenticated during logon.
Anyone have same or similar problem? and how do I prevent this problem
from happening again? I would appreciate any help.
Thanks.

[LLVMdev] Building llvm and cfrontend under cygwin

Alright, I've got llvm and llvm-gcc from RELEASE_14 cvs and tried
building it under cygwin.
1) The first problem is with llvm in SysUtils.c:
int executeProgram(const char *filename, char *const argv[], char *const
envp[])
