similar to: syncing unix passwords

Hi I am an absolute beginner and have just loaded SuSE v8 onto a new computer I have made sure that I chose Samba and samba-client amongst the software when I loaded up. Now, wanting to access swat, type http://localhost:901/ into my browser and get an error message. It seems that localhost:901 can't be found. Can anyone suggest what I may be doing wrong could be? I have some new information concerning this issue. I am now able to change both the samba and unix passwords as anyone but root. If I try as root I only am able to change the samba password but not the unix password. I can do this at the unix prompt as well as in swat. So it works but why root can't change both of them makes no sense to me. root can't even change both for root,

There are some SSL components that have function prototypes defined but no function definitions for the prototypes.
