Cannot resolve hostname on Windows2000
Hi, When I map directory using samba o nour Windows 2000, I have to type in the IP address of the samba server or the complete domain name; i.e, host.lmsw.lmco.com. I can't just type in the hostname; i.e. host. Your help is very much apreciated. Thanks Aissa Char Lockheed Martin Aero

Access Database SLOW
I've got a user that wants an Access database shared out. I've got a decent machine serving out the directory (300 MHz Pentium II) running RedHat 5.0 (kernel 2.0.34) with Samba 1.9.17p4 (RPM is samba-1.9.17p4-3). I've created a simple share entry in the smb.conf file: [global] debug level = 1 browsable = yes comment = Samba under Linux (RedHat 5.0) domain master = yes

Support for AD native mode.
Hello All! I was trying to find out which version of samba, if any is supported in an Active Directory native mode environment? We currently are running mixed mode with NT4 domain controllers but want to switch over ASAP. I was curious if samba authenticated to a kerberos WIN2K domain controller. Thanks in advance for your help. Regards, David "Tony" Perea Unix System

Shared Memory and Semaphore Errors
Hello, I am fighting an error I get when I try to compile Samba in IRIX. While checking the archives I noticed references to the same errors I was getting. In the last two weeks I have seen the error appear twice on two more OS'es; AIX and Digital Unix, and now today someone is having the same error on a DG/UX box: [1999/10/07 11:49:44, 0] locking/shmem_sysv.c:sysv_shm_open(597) ERROR:

cross-subnet browsing problems
I'm trying to set up cross-subnet browsing using Samba on a Linux box and a Sparc UltraEnterprise with Win95 and NT Workstation clients. I'm using the Sparc as the domain master and also as the WINS server on the 108 subnet. The Linux box is the local master on the 46 subnet. Both are running Samba 1.9.17alpha4. I can see the conversation between the two samba servers and the browse

acls unable to map SID solaris w2k
I think I've looked over every post that has acl or sid or winbind in it. I don't think this has been discussed quite this way. The symptom is similar to other posts but the environment is a bit different. We can do perms through samba, and we can see acls that have been set using setfacl, but we can't change the acls (e.g., add a user). We get: [2002/11/15 17:02:17, 0]

MySQL, map files
I'll try and break up my questions the other day about extdata that went unanswered into pieces in the hopes it will be more specific and clear. In general, I am trying to figure out the syntax of the map statement and what is allowed in that statement. So, by map statement, I mean for example perhaps the?dovecot-dict-expire.conf.ext file as shown in the doc. Is the syntax the same for the

[LLVMdev] How to configure the optimization parts in codegen
Hi all! I would like to know if it's possible to tell LLVM which optimizations to apply during "Scheduling Formation" (SF) and "Late Machine Code Optimizations" (LMCO). Right now, I add 1 pass to LMCO via addPassesToEmitFile, the one that emits the file, that's it. I was wondering if there is a similar list of available passes for SF and LMCO like there is for IR
