Offline Folders on Win XP issues.
Hi, I have searched for a problem similar to mine, but haven't seen it reported. Problem: Using offline folders on Win XP, I can: * Synchronize * Work locally on Win XP * Synch back to Samba I cannot: * Open OpenOffice files marked as offline *when I'm connected* to my samba server. I get a "file not found" response when double-clicking in an Win Explorer window. However, the

WinXP. Ugh.
I'm sitting here tonight trying to get WinXP to map a printer on a Samba share. First off, one thing I find disturbing is that XP seems to be aware of Samba servers. When I open a window to one, it says on the window bar "Samba 2.0.7 (nameofserver)" *shudder*. Anywho. I'm trying to map to a printer, and it seems to take forever and a week to come up. I've managed to map

When using the command line the error looks like this (note that the share exists) E:\>net use h: \\daffy\samba * /USER:dirk Type the password for \\daffy\samba: System error 53 has occurred. The

Samba in a Win2000 / NT Enterprise
Hello, I am currently integrating 20 workstations and 5 Servers (all Dell Products) running Red Hat 7.2 (2.4.7-10) into a Windows 2000 / NT Enterprise network of about 2,000 users. I have been using a Samba server (version 2.2.1) with "security=domain" so that any user with a W2K domain logon can access the Samba file server. However, I want to move into full integration and set up all

Mac Mini and chan_bluetooth, has anyone told The o if it works?
I googled on this for about an hour and the most relevant hit I got was, of course, the first hit: http://www.sowerbutts.com/linux-mac-mini/#support In it, he indicates that the stock Bluetooth module "should work, but untested" - he doesn't qualify the statement with anything. Has anyone tried chan_bluetooth or even the Bluz stack on a Mini or a G5? If so, under Linux or OSX?

After a brief stint offlist (thanks Bradley), I'm closer to getting SMB/LDAP working but now am encountering something very odd, which he suggested I bring back to the list for "further evaluation". :-) > $ smbclient //TESTBOX/testshare -U dballing > added interface ip=10.15.49.142 bcast=10.15.49.255 nmask=255.255.255.0 > Password: > session setup failed:

It appears that "break" will break from the outermost enclosing loop not the innermost loop. Is it a bug or language feature? Tim -- Timothy H. Ugh, Does Interfaces not work?
I'm a college student, but I also have an private network behind my firewall at college, and I have an ipsec tunnel to my office. I had to recently use the printer port on my firewall, so I ended up installing samba, and told it only to talk to my office network. Well, it managed to pick up the browser list..... and it got ahold of a local browser role as soon as it came up because I have a

more flexible AllowUsers/DenyUsers syntax
Hi, I hope this is the right place for a feature request. I'd like to have more flexible AllowUsers/DenyUsers synax. I am in a situation, where I have machines connected to three networks (a private, high speed, a public, and a private vpn) and I'd like to enable root logins only on the private networks. Currently I see no way of doing this, because there is no way to specify a

Ugh on new bios.
Just so others know. On my EVGA motherboard the option to boot removable media didn't work on my usb flash drive with syslinux on it. Yesterday I tried updating the version of syslinux and seeing if that would wok. Frustrated with it not working I moaned and groaned and my brother decided to look for options in the bios that I might have missed. He couldn't find anything. But I decided to
