Can't setup shares on domain member server samba4
I have a new CentOS 7 installation which I joined to my domain using 'realm
join mydomain.com'. That worked great. I can get a ticket with 'kinit
administrator at mydomain.com'.
But my samba shares don't work. In fact, when I browse (from windows 7
domain member) to the host (lserver), it just times out. Similarly, when I
try from another Linux server:

Hello Norbert,
thanks for your reply. Does that mean that the rpi build environment is not uptodate?

Make/Build Error on armhf
Hi,
I noticed the same, actually with many more shared libraries. It already
has been filed as bug https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=13754
with version 4.10.0rc4 .
Looking at what actually happens in detail no exotic build options are
used so at first sight it looks more like a problem of the build tools
on the RPi than a Samba problem.
The simplest situation I could find was

Compiling within Samba Source-Tree
Dear Samba-experts:
we migrated from Samba 3.6 to 4.18 and everything works well.
But there are two problems where I need some expert-help:
We are using a daemon that is running on our AD-server. It accepts
connections from remote machines and changes the passwords of
certain users. Calling system("smbpasswd") from within that daemon
would be too slow so the daemon calls

speed of samba
I have finish setting up samba on a Freebsd machine. Everything is working
great except where I try to access the server through the Network
Neighborhood on the NT network. It takes up to about 5 minutes before it
can access the folders on the server or download or upload files.

Make/Build Error on armhf
Hi Dirk.
Ok, now im ready with the debian packages for 4.10, this could make your life more easy.
I've not tested this but should work, you could try this.
Install a debian 9 server as minimal as possible, so choose expert install, only install ssh server, nothing else.
Now in this order, start building the armhf samba 4.10 packages
This should be easy todo now since i've match the

Netlogon from win9x using Kixtart to Samba server
Hi,
I would want Samba shares to be automatically mounted as logicals drives
on win9x machines.
For this i try to use KIXTART (http://www.kixtart.org), a logon script
processor for Windows.
The advantage is that a unique login script may be used for all the
users.
The shares need to be mounted accordingly to the unix groups the user
belongs to.
Fo example, if a user belongs to the IT and TOTO

Errors related to Samba in httpd log!
Hello list
First and foremost to any developers listening - thank you for Samba - it
is just brilliant.
Apologies - this is a long post...
I am not getting complaints about logon problems from users but I have
noticed in /var/log/httpd/error_log, entries like the following for a few
users when their logon scripts map drives to shares. Looking back I can
see that it has been

Printing with samba + lpr
Hi.
After hours and hours of problems I finally got my
HP LaserJet IIIp to print via my samba server. The only
problem that remains is that lpr (or lpq perhaps?) doesn't
clean up in /tmp after printing. I've tried to find the
problem by debugging smbd with strace (with -f) to find
out what really happens. This is the only "error" i found

Help needed: strange issue with share mapping at logon
Hello all,
I've run into an issue while migrating a client's Samba PDC from Debian
3.x to OpenSuSE 10.3, have been beating my head against it for over a
week, and am now turning to the mailing list for help.
We're running Samba 3.0.26a-3-1478-SUSE-SL10.3 authenticating against
OpenLDAP 2.3.37. Integration of Samba and OpenLDAP works, and importing
the 2000+ existing user accounts

Properly extending the AD schema
Hi,
I?ve been having a lot of trouble extending the schema on our DC. After
a few failed attempts and a few hours of researching the issue, I
decided to seek help here.
For context, I am trying to extend the schema to add a custom attribute
to the Person class that would contain an IMAP login name. It didn?t
seem reasonable to use any of the existing attributes of this class for
this purpose

The IMAP logins are not email addresses, but rather simple login names,
such as ?fred?. Otherwise we would just use the mail attribute.

Typo, sorry.
