smbclient error
Hi,
I've installed Samba on AIX 4.3 machine named ibmf40, and the domain name is
vercom.
This is how the smb.conf file looks:
[global]
netbios name = ibmf40
workgroup = vercom
server string = Samba Server
security = user
However I get an error when trying to run smbclient as follows:
ibmf40 /usr/local/samba/bin # ./smbclient -L ibmf40 -N
added interface ip=65.45.28.4

Joel@HammersHome.com
Hello Joel,
Thank you very much for your reply.
I tried use the same print command under UNIX as I
have in sam.conf, it works well.
Do you have any futher ideas? BTW, could you tell me
where I find docs about print using Samba2.2.2 and
W2K?
Thanks a lot,
Grace
What happens when you print a postscript file from the
samba server directly
using the same print command as you have in smb.conf?

offered by the windows boxes the same way.
I wonder why the other windows machines are not showing up in network
neighborhood? Try sharing some things between windows machines. Maybe you
have something misconfigured on the windows side.
There is a script, findsmb, which comes with samba. First turn off nmbd

Where is krb5.keytab or equivalent?
Yes I created an self signed cert (with the easy-rsa scripts froom
openvpn). Does mutt let you accept the cert anyway? On an earlier test
you got past the cert state and had to enter an password or got an no
auth failure.
Also figure out where dovecot auth debug log entries get written (here
dovecot writes logs to mail.info, mail.error, mail.log, debug only ends
up in mail.log).

Where is krb5.keytab or equivalent?
It's getting abit offtopic for the samba list :-)
Look at the testing section in
http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Authentication/Kerberos do what is mentioned
below "Test that the server can access the keytab".
If i run the telnet authenticated test and klist afterwards contains the
imap keys.

Struggling to get DC Setup/Validated with BIND_DLZ
So I have a lot of experience with BIND, and some with Samba, but I know
nothing about AD. Anyhow, I am trying to get a simple lab DC setup using
BIND9_DLZ and I am having trouble when I try and test the DNS update
capabilities.
I followed the guide here to setup BIND as a backend:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/DNS_Backend_BIND
And the guide here to setup the Samba DC:

How to mount a resource with non ascii chars??
Hi Samba Users,
After searching through recent archives, I'd like to pose this question:
How does one smbmount a Windows a share with non-ascii letters in the
share name?
Let's say the target is Windows 2000 Pro Deutsch (German).
It has two shares: /data and /d?ta [d,umlaut-a,t,a]
From Redhat linux 2.7.4 and 2.4.18 I try to mount these directories.
mount -t smbfs -o

Trying unsuccessfully to mount the dir that's on hdb1 on another Fedora

identical. Just refuses to mount hdb1. Here

Is there any reason why I cannot mount to a Dfs share on a Windows 2000 box

Mappoing from Samba client to \\server\share\dir ?
Hi!
How do I create a mountpoint with smbmount, that attaches to
\\server\share\dir (on a Windows 2000 server) ?? If I mount to
\\server\share I'm not able to see anything - but the mapping to the same
server (from a Win2000 client) is okay, and I can see the contents of the
directory... Trying to map to //server/share/dir gives me an error:

Asterisk seding 2 INVITEs all of a sudden
Hello Everyone,
Today we observed asterisk sending two invites for the initial call before
the call was established (ie, not re-invites). There were no changes made
to the configuration for a very long time, and was kind of confused when
seeing this action. Can someone please suggest where to look to remove
this behaviour?

Where is krb5.keytab or equivalent?
Achim,
This is my most recent effort. If I cannot make progress from here I'm going to give this idea a rest.
I used easy-rsa to create a cert. Files are:
/etc/ssl/certs/OHPRS/easyrsa/ca.crt
/etc/ssl/certs/OHPRS/easyrsa/reqs/MAIL.req
/etc/ssl/certs/OHPRS/easyrsa/reqs/dovecot.req
/etc/ssl/certs/OHPRS/easyrsa/private/ca.key
/etc/ssl/certs/OHPRS/easyrsa/private/MAIL.key
