File size limitation?
When I run backup and send the output to a file on the server,
I get a file limitation of 2g. When I do the same backup to
a snap server, there is no problem.
Is there a size limitation for a single file?
Thanks,

Adding XP to a samba domain
Bare with me please :-)
I know this question has probably been asked before but a quick overview of
the archives didn't help me out.
Couple of parts
1. Can a samba domain be established that doesn't require registry hacks on
an XP machine to add the XP machine?
2. What would a VERY basic smb.conf file look like that creates a samba
domain for W2K and XP machines?
3. Does anyone

How to add System V Filesystem to Centos?
Hi,
I am working on a project where I have to move some parts files from an
old Unix server. I have tared the files to floppy disc, but I can't
mount them.
After doing some reasearch I have found that the SCO Unix ver 3.2 uses a
System V filesystem I think. From the article that I have read I need to
add this filesystem to my kernel to be able to mount and read the floppy
discs.

configuration question
Hello,
The first thing I would suggest is to check freshmeat.net and see if there
is something comparable to astound out there for linux, therefore bypassing
the whole windows program need, bypassing the need for most pay-per-license
fees. As far as running a windows program under linux, you would need WINE,
vmware or some other win-emulator. Hope this advise helps some.

dovecot quota service for postfix
Hello,
I am trying to use dovecot quota service for postfix in order set quota
for some users.
i configure postfix policy service to ask dovecot if user quota is
sufficient to accept the email or not.
(dovecot in this case acts only as policy server to postfix as it only
ACCEPT/REJECT email according to user quota, but it is not used to deliver
email , because postfix will deliver the email to

hotuser in multicore system
Incase of multi-core systems where multiple threads maybe scheduled
for execution, does the below dscript (from hotuser in DTraceToolkit)
collect information for multiple libraries/functions that would be
getting executed at a given point of time. I have been able to test it
to check if it does or doesn''t. I assume it does.
This was a query I have about profiling in general.

FFmpeg's libavcoded
Hi,
I am letting myself known incase someone is interested in this or
already has ideas on the subject.
I would like to add Theora encoding to ffmpeg's libavcodec library.
My goal is to add vorbis / theora / ogm output to Handbrake. Doing
this at the libavcodec level appears to make the most sense as it
would benefit more people.
I have already made a small start. I have the configure

do_exec_pty(..)
Hello,
I see that incase of command execution:
:fork()" is called twice, in sshd.
Once to spin off child sshd from parenat and
second from child sshd, to execute command.
Due to this I see 3 processes being created
for each connection viz:

16399 0.0 0.1 320 232 p4 Is+ 4:33PM 0:00.06 -sh -c foo_command

Asterisk receives busy..but its not...
I'm guessing this is a problem with the phone itself. We all have Cisco
7960s with 7.3 firmware.
I can yell down the hall at 3091 and say "are you on the phone?" and she
yells back "no".
But when I try and call her extension, I get this:
-- Executing Dial("SIP/3044-8eb6", "SIP/3091|15") in new stack
-- Called 3091
-- Got SIP response 486 "Busy

Grabbing Specific Words from Content (basic text mining)
Hi all,
Suppose I have a data frame with mixed content (name age and address).
a<-"Name: John Smith Age: 35 Address: 32, street, sub, something"
b<-data.frame(a)
1. The question is I want to extract the name age and
address separately from this data frame (containing potentially more
people).
2. Also just incase I have to deal with it how would the syntax change if I

Update on Using Dovecot with Webmin
First of all thanks for the replies.
I have decided to try the updated version 1.0 alpha
After uninstalling Dovecot .99 and cleaning up user, groups and files.
(Dovecot .99 was authenticating as best I can tell using unix users = the
default -- and PAM = the default - I only had to setup the PAM if I
remember correctly.
Loaded Dovecot 1.0, made sure user, folders and files all seem to be

Agents getting logged off agressively
I have a group of agents logged in to a queue that is set for ringall. The
agents are set to auto logoff if they don't answer in 15 seconds incase they
step away without logging out. That works fine, however, if they are on a
call and a new call comes in, they are getting logged out too. The phones
are ATA's connected via SIP. One thought is that the phones may be allowing

[LLVMdev] X86 mmx movq disassembler fail
0x0f 0x6f 0xc8
And
0x0f 0x7f 0xc1
Should both be movq % mm0, % mm1. (AT&T)
However, llvm 3.4 at least does not recognise the second variant as being a
valid instruction.
We are currently compiling up latest src incase it has been fixed. If not,
could someone take a look or recommend how to fix?

Krad Pipe To
https://gist.github.com/oneman/5394332
This is a little hack for sending -live encoded- WebM streams to Icecast
from STDIN.
An example (I was using libav from git, params likely different between
libav, ffmpeg etc programs)
avconv -v debug -f video4linux2 -s 320x240 -r 10 -i /dev/video0 -vcodec
libvpx -threads 2 -vb 128k -r 10 -f webm pipe:1 | krad_pipe2
