Samba PDC + LDAP: adding user to local admin group
Hi all,
I'm evaluating Zimbra [1] as the groupware server for my small company. It
uses OpenLDAP for authentication services and I'm configuring a Samba server
as a PDC for my company, using the same ldap backend.
So far, so good, everything is working beautifully well, I can add computers
to the domain, login from any workstation, access shares with the
appropriate rights and so on.

[PATCH v2] drm/virtio: send vblank event after crtc updates
From: Gustavo Padovan <gustavo.padovan at collabora.co.uk>
virtio_gpu was failing to send vblank events when using the atomic IOCTL

evtViewer - A PERL-based viewer for Ms event (*.evt) log files
Hi all,
As Samba users, we often interact with Windows environments.
I've developped a PERL script that may be useful to you : it is an .evt (Windows
event "log" files) viewer. It is inspired from fccu-evtreader (www.d-fence.be)
and displays the contents of an event file. It is available on my website
(http://contribs.martymac.com/evtViewer/evtViewer-0.2.tgz) and released under

Winbind tdb question
Hello,
Small question: if I have to reinstall my Samba serve; using the same
winbindd_cache.tdb and winbindd_idmap.tdb will maintain domain id/unix id
mappings?
In other words, will it work? :)
cheers

unable to see event viewer on DC
Thanks a lot for your response. Just to sum up, there are no way to get the
audit logs? For me it doesn't really matter if I use event viewer or if it
gets logged to a regular log file. But if there are no way to get the audit
logged at all this might be a show stopper for us.
The way I have implemented this is via a GPO that applies to the computer
account and I want to audit password

large files
I'm reposting this problem (perhaps a bug) now I've got more information on
it. This is another point of view of the situation and I hope someone could
have run into the same trouble before (and solved it :-))
This is it:
* with ntbackup 2000 I create a 22Gb .bkf file in the windows machine.
* I can copy that file over a samba share and get correct info form the
file in windows

Event ID 4 on W7/2008R2 AD members
Hi all,
We have the following issue:
Migrated from Samba NT-Style/Classic domain to Samba 4.5.1 (a little
later 4.5.2) AD domain. Most Windows clients and member servers at OS
level of Win7 or Server 2008R2 were fine, but on a few, although right
after the migration, users were able to log on to these machines, after
a day or two users were unable to unlock or log in to these machines.

Export authentication & authorisation logs to Windows Event Viewer
Hi,
Can we export the samba audit logs (Authentication & Authorisation Logs)
to Windows Event Viewer?
I am trying to export the authentication & authorisation logs to a
Windows Server to be shown in Windows Event Viewer. I read the link -
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Event_Logging. But couldn't follow much.
Can someone throw more light on the procedure, if it is possible?

Do Samba 4.2 support: basic event viewer, rodc, multi-site?
Dear Samba team
Do Samba 4.2 support basic "event viewer" included
User logon, logoff: sucess, failure

They are very important log info
Currently, I using windows batch script in logon, logoff, shutdow, startup

But the destination log need to write permission for everyone So users can
find out destination folder and delete
