SAMBA and Subnet Browsing
Hi, I have 3 Samba servers run Samba 2.0.7 on RH6.2, with Kernel 2.2.16-3. Everything seems to be OK, except that my Win9x clients cannot see other Win9x clients across the subnets. Each server has 2 n/w cards installed, with IP Forwading enabled etc. If the user knows the machine name, he can get access to the shared resources across all 3 subnets, but using the n/w neighbourhood browser, shows

[LLVMdev] llvm useability?
What about ARM target ? I mean iPhone/iPod Touch has an ARM11 with a FPE and a VFPE. Does llvm-gcc 2.2 generates better code for them ? I'm a bit disappointed about the llvm-gcc 2.0 I tried for my iPod Touch as I saw it generated ARM code not very optimically : r7(apparently used like a frame pointer even when -fomit-frame-pointer is given) largely overused, generated code like "mov

Another sharing tehnique, is this possible ?
hi, (assume HTB) I was thinking will it be possible to do some sort of UNFAIR-SHARING :"), what I have in mind : Say I have a internet link with 100kbits bandwith, then I want to share it between many clients (which will increase over time). Let''s i start with 5 clients with rate = 30kbits... See the total bandwith of users is 120kbits but I have only 100kbits.... So where is the

transform.data.frame() ignores unnamed arguments when no named argument is provided
I am probably mistaken but it looks to me like the design of much of the data.frame infrastructure not only does not insist you give columns names, but even has all kinds of options such as check.names and fix.empty.names https://www.rdocumentation.org/packages/base/versions/3.6.2/topics/data.frame During the lifetime of a column, it can get removed, renamed, transfomed in many ways and so on. WinXP sometimes is slow opening files / browsing directories
Hi, I think I've been hit by the problem described here: http://oldlook.experts-exchange.com/Networking/Linux_Networking/Q_20762641.html http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;811169&Product=WinXP The server is Red Hat Linux 9, running samba samba-2.2.7a-7.9.0. We have client PCs running both Win98 and WinXP, but only the ones running WinXP display the problem.

WinXP sometimes is slow opening files / browsing directories
Hi, I was reading your article. One question, do you have Norton antivirus installed in your system? if so, there's a problem with both of them. We are experiencing the same problem. Just have to wait for the next service pack from Might Microsoft. Have a nice day. Louis Ong Summa Engineering Ltd. LO@Summaeng.com (905) 678-3388 Ext. 241

I put browse list = yes, but no dice. Any ideas? thanks, Brad Christian

Samba3+Win9x userlist, Bug?!
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Dear List, Few days ago I've posted, that my Win9x boxes are unable to get the list of domain users and groups from samba-3.0.0 server (for details see bug 596). Unfortunately the same is true for samba-3.0.1pre1. Please people also having win9x boxes and Samba3 PDC confirm that it is a bug, or a configuration error. Thanks for any suggestion.

Login scripts and Win9x clients
Hi all, I have two systems using Win98 and one using Win95. These three systems do not automatically execute their login scripts. I can map the network drives manually and tell them to reconnect at login, but I am wondering why they don't execute them. I can log in, browse to my netlogon share (if I make it browseable), and execute the script manually, and it works. Well, it mostly

Major network slowdown today... Samba the cause?
Today, our network has been excruciatingly slow. I checked the log.nmb file, and I noticed that today, the Samba PDC has been losing its "local master browser" status every 2 minutes or so, for about 15 seconds, to a Win9x client. Before today, this also happened, but only a few times each day. Network configuration: 1. All clients are Win9x. 2. Server is SuSE 6.1, with Samba 2.0.5.

I have under Redhat 8.0 security level = user works fine under NT/2000/XP platforms, but when I try to login from a Windows 95/98/98se/Me machine, samba prompts me for a password to resource \\netbiosname\IPC$ how do I prevent this from happening in

2.0.6: HUP/charset/profiles/smbmount/logging
This is the list of problems I had with samba-2.0.6 so far. Can anyone tell me if he can reproduce them and if he considers them as problems? 2.0.6 on linux 2.2.13 or 2.0.33 1) sighup/log reopening doesn't always work: connections that are already active keep logging to the old logs; logrotate rotates/zip the logs and samba stops logging completely till restart. 2) Localized chars.
