Samba 3.0 on RedHat 8.0
Hello,
i'm sorry if this is a question which was asked before.
We use samba 2.2 on a RedHat 8.0 box width Winbind to auth our Windows
users.
Now we want to install the RPM package provided on the samba website (for
i386 RH8.0).
My first question is, how can i see, with which options the package was
compiled.
We need ADS Integration, ACL and CUPS support.
Can i see, if all features we need are

Virus Scanner
Hello Listers,
does anyone know about virus scanners working on Unix hosts but
scanning for all those bad vermin from the M$ world.
Best solution (for me) would be a tight coupling with samba,
monitoring the I/O as some PC scanners do.
Any suggestions?
TIA,

Setting printer properties with prnadmin.dll (W2k Resource Kit)
Hi,
we are trying to set printer properties with the prnadmin.dll from the
windows 2000 resource kit.
The printers are shared by a samba 2.2.8a, spoolingsystem is Cups. We are
using the windows drivers to process the job, the queues are set as
raw-queues on cups.
For some models[1] setting the properties via a dumped file works without
any
Problems.
For some other printermodels[2] it

FXS Help Needed...
Hello All,
I have a need to connect an analog device to an asterisk server. The analog device has 4 analog lines going into it (it?s a fax solution). The fax solution answers the analog call, then listens for dtmf. The dtmf code that is played tells the fax device what email address to send the fax to. All calls on our system come into the server through a PRI. The faxes come in over a PRI,

2 pretty irritating issues....
Hey All ~
1, queue records on fairly unreliable. I would say about 40 - 60 percent
of the queue calls are not being recorded and I'm not sure why. I don't
seem to see any kind of pattern to the failure. I've added a sample of
our queue config at the bottom.
2, cel_pgsql module seems to crash regularly. It seems every time I look
at our asterisk server, the cel_pgsql module is

Need input on scalable system design...
Hey All,
Growing call center. Currently at about 200 call center staff, running
about 1000 calls per hour. Gearing up to double that. Not too sure that
a single server will support that growth. So, I'm trying to come up with
ways to scale the system and still maintain a simplistic design. So I'd
like to bounce some ideas around.
Currently I am running on a Dell 1950, dual quad core

summary of responses to "firewalls, a practical question"
A little over a week ago I posted asking about setting up a linux box
between an existing router and a switch in order to provide firewall
service to a subnet of machines. I was curious what experience others
had with this type of setup in terms of machines, configurations, and
the appropriateness of using linux in this manner.
There were basically three issues discussed in replies: hardware
