Error during wrapup: cannot open the connection
I am trying to use a new (to me) package (samr) and even when I try to run a very simple example, I get this "cannot open the connection" error. The reason I am writing to r-help rather than to the authors of samr is I think this may be a more general R problem rather than a samr-specific problem. Perhaps something with my installation and write access to some particular place ? I am

Phabricator down for maintenance tonight
Could we ever consider adding https://github.com/r4nt/phabricator/tree/llvm-production as a new read/only observe Diffusion repository in reviews.llvm.org? I'd be happy to do code reviews? Preloading WINS registrations
I have a couple of Samba boxes, one of which is dedicated to WINS. The other I dole out anti-virus stuff to 3,500 odd PCs from. This second one will disappear from the WINS server from time to time which is a bit of a pain. I use nmblookup -R -U <wins_ip> <2nd_box_ip> to test for it. All clients are configured as "P" nodes so WINS is a bit essential. To bring it back I

Multiple Samba's on same machine
I have tried hunting through docs/lists/Google but no joy. I am sure I saw something about running multiple Samba's on different ports but I want to use different interfaces all on port 139. So: Can I run multiple s/nmbd's on the same machine? I have nine main VLANs and somewher in the region of 30 odd worgroups (don't ask !) of which 10 are of interest. 3,500 odd PCs. I have a

RELENG_7 jerky mouse and skipping sound
I just updated to RELENG_7 from 6.2 and I'm running into some really annoying issues with jerky mouse movement and skipping sound. This seems to be similar to: Re: SCHED_4BSD in RELENG_7 disturbs workflow This happens both with 4BSD and ULE. I seems to happen when I'm compiling ports and a new cc/bzip2/sh process fires off (I'm just watching top), I'll get the skip/freezeup.

Strange changes to a Word document
Dear Andrew Tridgell A strange thing happened last night. I was working on a Word document. I scrolled up to the top of the document, and the first section had been replaced by the following text, all formatted exactly as I had set it: Copyright Andrew Tridgell and the Samba Team 1992-2004 [2005/02/21 23:50:25, 0] /SourceCache/samba/samba-59/samba/source/smbd/server.c:main(757) smbd version

Using queue priorities to add agents
Hi, I have a scenario that I am failing to implement using the Queue app, but which I had thought would be commonplace... 1) (this bit works fine) I want a queue caller to have access to the basic set of agents initially, with an overflow to additional agents if they are busy - This is done using penalty: queues.conf: member => SIP/dev1,0,Agent1 member => SIP/dev2,0,Agent2 member =>

lustre 1.8.3 upgrade observations
Hello, 1) when compiling the lustre modules for the server the ./configure script behaves a bit odd. The --enable-server option is silently ignored when the kernel is not 100% patched. Unfortunatly the build works for the server, but during the mount the error message claims about a missing "lustre" module which is loaded and running. What is really missing are the ldiskfs et al

[LLVMdev] github's llvm mirror down
Just curious, what's the reason we don't make the github mirrors the official mirrors? ...besides not knowing how to revive them when they go down. :) -Greg On Tue, Mar 4, 2014 at 5:35 PM, Steven Noonan <steven at uplinklabs.net> wrote: > Someone should enable the smart HTTP protocol: > > https://www.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/docs/git-http-backend.html > > On

[LLVMdev] github's llvm mirror down
> LLVM has its own mirror at http://llvm.org/git/llvm.git, if that suits your needs. The llvm.org mirror seems to be quite a bit slower (~3.5x). I think it's because github lets me use the git protocol whereas llvm.org suggests http. When I try to clone "git at llvm.org:git/llvm.git", I'm asked for a password for user 'git'. -Greg On Tue, Mar 4, 2014 at 3:54 PM,
