I am looking for a good and new book for Samba which includes descriptions
for the new features (maybe using Samba and Win2K), too.
Any proposals?

Hi!
I just set up a PDF printer via Samba 2.2.5 according to the article given in
the German magazine iX of March.
Now I have the problem that at the first time I done this a file appeared in
the resulting pdfshare (the file created by Word which I test with) but
afterwards I cannot get it running again (although I restarted smbd and
nmbd). No

printcap printer names
I am running Samba 2.0.6 successfully on a Linux machine.
Currently I try to add the two printers in our net to Samba.
Now I wonder which printer names in the printcap are shown when
I do a 'smbclient -L <linux machine>'.
The printcap contains something like
remote22|HPL4kSC|HP Laserjet floor 4
...
remote21|HPLaser4|HP Laserjet floor 3
Now the first printer shows up as

I have problems mounting a share from our NT server.
Connecting to the share via

non-digest format of this list?
I always get the messages of this list in a digest format.
This is bad to handle, esp. if you want to answer a question found
in the digest.
Does everyone else also get the list as a digest?
Is there a way to switch to single messages?
If not how do I easily answer messages which the subject correctly set?
Or how do I automatically split the digest into the separate messages?

configure command for SAMBA 2.0.0 fails under HP-UX 10.20
Good afternoon,
I've downloaded the newly released Samba package 2.0.0, and when
trying to run "compile" (located in directory source of the package),
after a moment, script fail with the following errors:
>ERROR: No locking available. Running Samba would be unsafe

Hi,

to the
UNIX machine using samba from any of my NT machines.
I want only few of my NT machines should be able to connect to the UNIX

possible setup?
I wonder whether the following setup is possible with Samba
since I have problems to get it running:
I want password checking for Samba shares on a Linux Samba
server to be done via the NT password server.
This is mainly thought for the users home directories.
Since the users already have given their password to the local
workstation I have thought that they do not need to give it

Problem with Let's Encrypt Certificate
Hey.
Thanks again for your help. I took the "dovecot -n" while the StartSSL
Certificate was active, so the chain.pem was correct.
Finally I found the issue! :-) But I still have no idea why the problem
happens with Thunderbird.
I used dehydrated to fetch the certificates from Let's Encrypt and as I
said, it works for most clients pretty well. (Tried: Mulberry, Claws

SSH command when uploading files
Hello
I've searched quite a bit, but have so far been unsuccessful in finding an
answer to a question I have concerning the upload of files via rsync over
SSH.
When downloading, I have been able to make use of SSH's benefits, yet still
keep the rsync server safe from a shell accessible with a private SSH key
lacking a passphrase by restricting the public key used by the rsync client

Problem with Let's Encrypt Certificate
Usually with LE, the filename is fullchain.pem, not chain.pem.
Can you please doublecheck this?
Also, try
openssl s_client -connect hostname:143 -starttls imap

Problem with Let's Encrypt Certificate
Hello Folks,
my StartCom SSL-Certificate expires soon and so I wanted to switch to
Let's Encrypt Certificates instead. Unfortunatelly Thunderbird seems not
to like it, although all -tested- other Clients work without any problems.
When I connect with Thunderbird it sends an "Encrypted Alert" directly
after the TLS handshake although Dovecot wants to continue the session.
