Hello, I'm doing all sorts of testing with samba 2.0.6 and NT wks domain logons. It is just a test environment, and since deleting and recreating the /etc/MACHINE.SID file nothing is working. If a person deletes that file, what has to be done to get NT wks domain logons to work again? Delete and recreate the machine names in passwd and smbpasswd? Delete and recreate the NT usernames in

I notice when issuing the command "net rpc user testuser -S ip_address -U administrator%password" that the testuser gets added to the remote machine (Win 2k3) sucessfully, however the account is disabled. Hi. Myself and a anti-Micro$oft companion tried to get NT domain logons working yesterday and seem pretty close, but not quite. Samba is 1.9.18alpha3, server is an Ultra-2 running SunOS 5.5.1. Encrypted passwords seem to be working, a la smbclient and mostly from NT, "mostly" because it *seemed* to be working but we did have some problems with home directories in smbpasswd changing

But the win wks on the other subnet is configured to use my SAMBASERVER as its WINS SERVER, and it is configured using the IP Adress of the SAMBASERVER and not the name. Shouldn't this do the trick? win wks is on a wireless subnet and hence runs at 11 MBPS, while the SAMBASERVER is on a wired subnet. I read somewhere that windows does some kind of "optimization" with slow networks.
