Logon script
Hello,
I am having a little problem with executing logon scripts on Win95 clients,
logging into Samba Netlogon service.
When a user logges in, a MS-DOS prompt shows up and quicky disappears. Then
I get
"Please Wait While your logon script executes". It hangs at that point. A
user has to hit cancel to start his win95 session.
I have done the logon script in MS-DOS editor. I have the

ERRDOS message from smbclient
Hi:
I'm using smbclient version 1.9.15p8 to do some printing from a Solaris
2.3 box to an NT 4.0 share of a remote Win95 box with a printer attached.

(NT is sharing a share...)
About a year ago, I wrote a printer script that is used by the lp system
to print to the printer using an lp command. As an error check,

CRLF/LF Conversion
Hi everybody!
I hope that you are not already "pissed off" of all the crlf/lf conversion
discussion between dos and unix ;-)
Concerning that topic I have a question / suggestion:
This is what we have:
We are using a Win NT 4.0 Server with Win95 clients. Additionally we have a
Sun (Solaris 2.5) running in the same network. To access the Sun in character
mode we use a terminal

Greetings,
I'm not on the list, so please CC me, thanks. :)

samba printing on NetBSD 1.4.1
Hi Folks,
I recently set up a samba server 2.0.5a on a NetBSD 1.4.1 box.
I have (I think) a very simple setup: one share and one printer. The share
configured below (tmp) works fine.
I can see the printer in the win95 Network Neighborhood, but when I try to
print a test page, I get "windows cannot find the printer" on the Win95 side,
and nothing on the samba side. With the smb.conf

Samba and Win95 printing problem
I am having some problems setting up the printing for samba and was wondering
if anyone has any ideas.
Samba 1.9.16p11 is running on a SparcStation 20 running SunOS4.1.3_u1.
Accessing the shares, like [homes], is successful. When attempting to
connect to a printer using Win95 with Service Pack 1, an error occurs. The
printer share name, host name, and printcap name are all the same and

Windoze Printer and Linux Box Setup Woes
Okay... seems I still cannot get anything working right with this as far
getting it to print. Here is the three different files which I would like all
to look at and see what I have screwed up since it refuses to print.
Here is the setup of the network:

How to handle domain logons if users using same accountname are logged on the same time?
Hi,
I'm working at a small office.
I'm running Samba 2.x for about a year without any problem, it's working
absolutely GREAT and the community kicks ass :)
We don't have too many machines so about 6 Users use about 3 PCs to do
similar tasks.
I just setup samba latest 23c-1 as a DC because we got some more
machines, and everything's fine. Except when the same account is used

cannot change file permissions
Hi List,
I have some severe problem with Samba 3 with ldapsam
backend on debian stable.
The problem is that I can not change the rights
of a file or directory on the server from Windows.
I get this in smb.log:

Netlogon in Win95 ?
Hi,
We try configure Netlogon/Profiles in Samba 1.9.18p7 to use in
Win95, but the "login script" did not run in win95 login process.
The net configuration is:
Clients Win95 using Novell 4.2 and Microsoft in same time;
Servers UNIX using Solaris 2.5.1 Server.
The SMB.CONF is:

Printing on a Window Client from AIX
Hi all...
First, thank you to Matt Chapman for pointing out why I could not connect to a
non-domain participating machine. I needed to have a local account on that
machine (it wasn't checking back with the domain controllers as I thought it
would). I guess I'm going to have to start venturing out of the UNIX world and
into the NT one. Scary :-)
Either way, I now successfully am

ACSII vs BINARY transfers...
Morning...
At work, I just recently convinced the "higher ups" to use
Samba+Solaris+Sparc as a platform to run departmental and student WWW
pages.
Basically, they have their personal WWW directory on the Unix
server map'd to their Win95 machine and can manipulate it directly instead
of having to use FTP for it, which isn't allowed on that machine.
The problem is that if

samba and win95-login
Hi,
I want to set up samba and win95 so that password checking is made
via samba and also some login scripts are started. I have changed
windows setup to login on NT-Domain with my samba's hostname as DOMAIN.
I also have enabled wins support on win95. But after reboot, when I am
asked for user, password and domain I always get an error message,

Samba 2.0.6 and Windows 95 logon
Hello
I have just updated from Samba 2.0.5 to 2.0.6, and have found that the path
to the user profile does not seem to work properly.
I am using:
Win95 OSR2 on PCs
Solaris 2.5.1 on a Sun Ultra 2/200
Samba 2.0.6 (compiled with gcc 2.7.2)
My smb.conf file includes the following lines:
Domain logons = yes
Logon script = mount.bat
Logon home = \\%N\%U
Logon path = \\%N\%U\winapps\win95
All of
