Really Funky Samba Errors (smbd/nttrans.c:call_nt_transact_ioctl)
Hi All,
I'm experiencing some really funky Samba errors, and I'm hoping that some
of you might have some ideas. This only happens sporadically, and when it
does, I loose Samba connectivity for a while. Here are my Samba logs:

Samba Print Server
Hiya,
Can someone explain why I am seeing chmod of W32X86/3/PSCRIPT5.DLL failed (Operation not permitted) in the log files.
It is a samba 3.0.1pre3 print server, which has the drivers on it for loading to the clients.
Here is the log file of errors.
Thanx in advanced

Can't write QuickBooks file to Samba share
On a server that has been running smoothly since it was setup, and with no
changes to configurations or network or anything, users cannot save a shared
QuickBooks file. they have been regularly using, updating and saving to this
file for a few months. All users are able to create and update other files in
the same share. I have not confirmed if they are able to create and update new

The bloomin' Irish
Let me first apologise for asking on two lists, but this problem is (of
course) urgent because prior to this afternoon I was unaware of the problem
and it has been affecting production users for two days despite me having
warned everyone that they should be looking out for possible Samba problems!
I have just upgraded most of our samba servers from 1.9.18 (various patch
levels) to 2.2.2 on

Can't manipulate files on Samba server after installing W2K SP3
We have a Redhat 7.2 server running(we think) samba 2.2. We updated 3 Win2K
machines from SP2 to SP3 and now we have some problems. While they all can
browse, read and write to samba shared directories, they cannot manipulate
any open files in them. We do have one other Win2K machine that works with
no problems but I cannot find any differences in its setup and the other
three.

Printer errors
Hello all,
Got SAMBA running on a linux 2.0.32 box, and all is well. Looked over the
docs and set up my printer with the (what I think) are correct entries.
Basically, what the default smb.conf has. Testparms says it o.k.! And I
can print (lpr) locally.
Windows sees both printcap entries (inkjet and psjet), but any attempt to
pring to them errors out. I then added the print command =

call_nt_transact_ioctl(0x90060): Currently not implemented
Hi,
We have a large (8 CPUs, 32GB RAM) x86 Sun server running x8664 Debian
Lenny, with Samba 2:3.2.5-4lenny6. It's a BDC and file server. I have
noticed various entries in the log files that I'd like to understand
better.
Some machines are generating this:

All,
Since upgrading to 3.0.23d on several linux servers, I'm seeing the following error repeatedly in my logs:

Aside from the obvious, what does this error mean? I've googled for

Samba stops working on HP-UX 11
I've had a consistent problem with Samba from 2.2.1 onwards, maybe even
before then, I'm not sure when it started.
Anyway, Samba will randomly stop responding to any requests, although
it usually occurs after transfering large amounts of data (1 GB+). To
get around the problem, I've been restarting samba every night, but we
still have the problem occasionally.
smbclient shows:

hosting library (ie. PVCS) on Samba
Hello.
I believe that I've done my due diligence in researching what info. is
currently available on this issue.
I have been jacking with this for days, & believe that I have tried all
possible solutions.
I am basically trying to move a [Merant] PVCS installation from an OS/2
file server to a SuSE/Samba file server.
This installation consists of 'standard' source archives,

Problems with NT logons, Samba as PDC
Hi!
We're using Samba as PDC, and recently had a strange crash on the
system (none of the NT-machines authenticated anymore). I re-created
the user database and passwords on the server (TurboLinux 2.2.14-5,
with Samba 2.0.6 & 2.1alpha for auth.) and also re-newed the profiles
making 'em local on the NT-workstations.
Sometimes when the NT-PC gets rebooted, I can't authenticate it

Able to Mount home, but getting failure errors in logs
Hi,
I have a few users that are creating errors like below. These users have mapped
a directory via Samba and also have it connected. They can access their home
directory or other directory via Samba fine, but it is strange that every hour
on the hour there is a failure put into the log (even though they are working).
My server is joined to the Domain and it is using
