dos floppy client for samba wanted
I need to be able to access my Samba network from a DOS floppy. Obviously it must be a tcp/ip client rather than netbeui. Any pointers on doing this? Not *too* cryptic as I'm not expert at this sort of thing. I'm pretty sure I saw some material on the Samba site, but now I cannot find it. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Lindsay Allen

"shared mem size" parameter and smbstatus
I am trying to use the "shared mem size" parameter in Samba 2.0.4b, but the size reported by smbstatus does not match the value I am using. Without the parameter, the default is 1MB, and the size reported by smbstatus is indeed 1048576. However, when I set the value of "shared mem size" to 5242880 (5MB), smbstatus says 879608. Is smbstatus not reporting the actual size, or

smbmount problem
Hello. I hope that this is the proper place to ask this. Here is my problem. I have several smbmounts under Red Hat Linux 5.1. They need to be accessed by my apache web server. One of the mounts keeps getting disconnected, but this is not noticed by Linux. So the Linux box thinks that the files under the smbmount are still accessable when they aren't actually mounted. What would be the best

2.0.6 and interfaces
I tried and failed to get a W98 box to connect via ppp and become part of the network. In the course of debugging this I found what appears to be a weakness in the "interfaces" handling. Testing with : nmblookup -d 2 '*' and using different "interfaces" lines. The inbound ppp connection is 192.168.3.x. 1. interfaces = 200.01.01.233/29 192.168.3.1/24 added

Equivalents of Novell ROS and RWS ?
I am setting up my first production Samba/Linux server and so far I have not found equivalent settings for Novell's ROS and RWS flags. I guess it's some combination of: share modes ( "NEVER" to be turned off) ole locking ( safe for Linux?) blocking locks fake oplocks ( should be off? ) locking ( "should never need to set

Advice needed on tracking down unusual error
Does anyone have advice on how to go about locating the cause of this error message: ActionView::TemplateError (wrong number of arguments (3 for 1)) on line #4 of app/views/products/search.rhtml: 4: <%= start_form_tag :action => ''search'' %> I don''t see anything wrong with line 4 above. HABTM - how to insert join row when associated rows exist
I have successfully used HABTM to create a many-to-one-to-many set of rows in one step. Now, if two objects I want to associate already exist, how do I create the join row? The Agile book mentions the ''push_with_attributes'' method. The text says this method is useful for adding additional attributes to the join row (in the example a ''read_at'' timestamp). I

Can you have multiple before filters?
Hi, Is it possible to specify multiple before filters in a controller... here''s the thing: only one set of filters is to use the :except option. Something like: before_filter :check_for_session_cookie before_filter :validate_user :except =>[''login''] which I use to a) check if the user has returned to the site and has a saved cookie holding login details b) check

[Gluster-devel] Integration of GPU with glusterfs
It is disappointing to see the limitation being put by Nvidia on low cost GPU usage on data centers. https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/01/03/nvidia_server_gpus/ We thought of providing an option in glusterfs by which we can control if we want to use GPU or not. So, the concern of gluster eating out GPU's which could be used by others can be addressed. --- Ashish ----- Original

How to remove dead peer, osrry urgent again :(

Updated from 2.2.8a to 3.0b3 gives smbtar newer failure
Hi all, Situation: We use smbtar for backups, incrementals done using -N <last date file>, and this has worked well with samba 2.2.x After upgrading to 3.0b3, using the -N (newer) option to smbtar causes a bad interaction with smbclient. Eg,: # smbtar -s PC -x Share -u User -p Pwd -d / -t - -N last-backup -v gives (if you print out the eval at the end of smbtar script): eval
