Printing Problems / SAMBA Digest 2072
Hello Brian, There is a very annoying problem with UNIX systems and network printing. On nearly all SYSV systems the spooler stores only the address of the (temporarily) print file. This does not cause any problem if it is created by a local application. If the temporarily print file was created via a network application (Samba, NFS, etc.) it will be removed shortly afterwards. Samba digest 2532 / Problem with "force create mode" et. al.
Hi, Frankly spoken you have a real RTFM problem. The manual pages for smb.conf say that "create mask" and "create mode" are equal. It also says that there is only a "force XXXX mode" (where XXXX is either create or directory). So a replacement of mask with mode will do the thing. The other mistake is that there is no "force create group" parameter. The

Strange Problem Samba 2.04b and Outlook97
Hello, I have a strange problem with Samba 2.04b and M$ Outlook97 on NT 4.0 SP4. I am using a SCO OpenServer 5.04 system as mailserver (POP3) and nameserver as well as Samba Server. For backup reasons I have installed Outlook in such a way that its own mail file (postfach.pst) is on the Samba share. If the NT box and Outlook are freshly started I can retrieve mails from the POP3 or send

Company of Heroes pause and -dev not working
Hi there. I'm using OSX and the latest version of wineskin to run Company of Heroes Gold version, downloaded from Steam. It appears that there is no way to alter key-binds, and you have to use the 'pause/break' button to utilize the in-game tactical pause (stops all action and allows you to issue orders). My mac keyboard doesn't have this button, so I tried using a new logitech

prototype PeriodicalExecuter pause/restart patch
I''ve come up with a patch to PeriodicalExecuter which allows for pausing and restarting without losing the time remaining. I''ve searched for something like this, but the only one I found linked to a dead blog. I wondered if anyone would look over the code, maybe it will make its way into the official release. var PeriodicalExecuter = Class.create({ initialize:

pause / unpausequeuemember
Hi, I wanted to use the same extensions for Pausing and UnPausing queue members. Is that a variable that is set up with the agent status (on call, available, not logged, paused) so that I could use it to make some logic in this extension? exten => 111,1,Set(AGENTEPARADESLOGAR=${$[AGENTBYCALLERID_${CALLERIDNUM}]}) exten => 111,2,PauseQueueMember(|Agent/${AGENTEPARADESLOGAR}) exten =>

Pause in access of realtime file transfers when printing
Hello, I'm running Slack 8.1 and Samba 2.2.4. The mp3 I'm playing off of the server, or anything else realtime for that matter, pauses when a print job is sent to the box. I'm printing to a small cheap print server that does lpr. The pause seems to occur when my linux box sends the job to the actual print server (by the looks of my switch activity) hanging off of my printer, so the

Hosted VM Pause when one node of gluster goes down
Hi Russell, Since I also ran into this when setting up gluster, the solution is to tweak network.ping-timeout to a lower value (default is 42 seconds). If a node goes down and starts timing out, the whole cluster will attempt to block access, including reads, for network.ping-timeout seconds and only let them through after. I set mine to 5 (seconds) because 42 is nowhere near an acceptable wait

Package: xen-utils-common Version: 4.1.4-2 Severity: normal Hi, During some research I encountered incorrect information in the man page of xm, about the dump-core functionality: The man page says: "Defaults to dumping the core without pausing the domain if no I<OPTIONS> are specified." When taking a look at the source code of this process, the default behaviour is to actually

Strange files
Hello, I am using Samba 2.0.3 on my FreeBSD 2.2.7 box. Works fine. It is already running for a few months with a small amount of windows95 users and last week we decided to move all our userfiles from our SCO box with visionfs over to the Samba machine. No problems so far. But, strange files are appearing in the directorys of the NT40 workstation users. Under Unix they look like Ne00: or Ne01: or
