Can anyone help me? I have Samba 2.0.5a running on SuSE Linux 6.0 (2.0.36) and Windows NT Server 4.0 SP4 (PDC). Hi all together, all answers to my first posting didn't help to solve my problem. Maybe this can help you. When I'm doing: smbclient -L MYLINUX -U MYUSER I get the following message: Added interface ip=195.90.254.xxx broadcast=295.90.254.255 nmask=255.255.255.0 Password: <enter password for myuser> Domain=[MYDOMAIN] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 2.0.5a] Tree connect failed: ERRSRV -

Samba digest 2532 / Problem with "force create mode" et. al.
Hi, Frankly spoken you have a real RTFM problem. The manual pages for smb.conf say that "create mask" and "create mode" are equal. It also says that there is only a "force XXXX mode" (where XXXX is either create or directory). So a replacement of mask with mode will do the thing. The other mistake is that there is no "force create group" parameter. The

Printing Problems / SAMBA Digest 2072
Hello Brian, There is a very annoying problem with UNIX systems and network printing. On nearly all SYSV systems the spooler stores only the address of the (temporarily) print file. This does not cause any problem if it is created by a local application. If the temporarily print file was created via a network application (Samba, NFS, etc.) it will be removed shortly afterwards. In the most

Strange Problem Samba 2.04b and Outlook97
Hello, I have a strange problem with Samba 2.04b and M$ Outlook97 on NT 4.0 SP4. I am using a SCO OpenServer 5.04 system as mailserver (POP3) and nameserver as well as Samba Server. For backup reasons I have installed Outlook in such a way that its own mail file (postfach.pst) is on the Samba share. If the NT box and Outlook are freshly started I can retrieve mails from the POP3 or send

I am getting "sessionsetup failed: ERRSRV - ERRbadpw (...)
Could someone help me to connect FreeBSD 3.1 Unix (& Samba) with Win 98se (with all updates posted)? The error has to do with ...(Bad password - name/password pair in a Tree Connect or Session Setup are invalid.). I have read till my eyes are falling out. I have done the diagnosis and all works except the password problem. My Win box has the Samba Server in its network neighbourhood, etc.

ERRSRV - ERRbadpw w/ plain text PW
Hello All, I have two computers. I want the Linux box to act as an SMB server for the NT box. I only need plain text passwords right now. I modified the NT Registry to support this. But I can't even do a loopback on the Linux box with smbclient. See below: [gsw@pagestreet ~]$ smbclient -L pagestreet Added interface ip=192.168.0.1 bcast=192.168.0.255 nmask=255.255.255.0 Password:

Strange files
Hello, I am using Samba 2.0.3 on my FreeBSD 2.2.7 box. Works fine. It is already running for a few months with a small amount of windows95 users and last week we decided to move all our userfiles from our SCO box with visionfs over to the Samba machine. No problems so far. But, strange files are appearing in the directorys of the NT40 workstation users. Under Unix they look like Ne00: or Ne01: or
