SAMBA 2.0.6 vs HP's ASU/9000 LanMan (battle rages on)
Found the solution to my 2.0.6 dying on me on SGI - SYSV_IPC needed to be #undef'ed in source/include/includes.h in favor of MMAP, seems to have fixed it. If I run the daemon in server mode, no prob. If I switch to domain mode (and use smbpasswd to join into the domain, per the instructions), I get the error indicating that the username/password pair was incorrect, as if I typed in a wrong

OpenSSH and HP-UX
My system: HP-UX 10.20, pretty vanilla, most non-HP software from the HP Porting Archive at hpux.cae.wisc.edu. GNU make is /usr/local/bin/gmake, zlib is in /opt/zlib, OpenSSl in /opt/openssl, HP ANSI C compiler. OpenSSH 2.2.1p4. 'configure' on this system warns that rsa is not available. I found source at www.spinnaker.com which builds an rsaref.a library but not an RSAglue one. So

ssh-agent and rdist
Hi, I'm having a real difficulty here, and I'll keep this very short; ask for needed details. I've got two nearly identically configured RedHat 8 systems, call them A and B. I've generated keys with passphrases on both, added the public key for B to ~/.ssh/authorized_hosts on A and vice versa. On either machine, I can use ssh-agent with no problems. In particular, if I run

Getting SAMBA 2.0.0 (SGI's compile) and HP's AS/U LanMan playing nice
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 The following is a level-10 debug log of the SAMBA machine attempting to join the CSUN2K domain administered by AS/U 9000 LANMAN daemon on HP9K1 (HP-UX 11.00) v B.04.03, NetBIOS v B.04.04 The procedure for doing this is two-fold. First, I went into the Server Manager and added the NetBIOS name of the SAMBA server to the CSUN2K SAM database. Second:

Re: Compiling the MFC using Winelib
Well, from my recent experience with Winelib, I can tell you this: Winemaker currently sucks, and the makefiles it creates are nonfunctional and you'll have to redo them by hand anyway. Yeah. If I knew anything about how to fix it I just might be tempted to do so :) Thanks, Scott Ritchie On Sat, 2005-01-22 at 13:19 -0800, Dan Dennison wrote: > Building MFC for winelib has been

ggplot legend for multiple time series
Hello All, I am trying to create a legend for a black-white graph. The package I use is ggplot2. It can add colors to the legend key but not line types. Can you please help? # example from Wickman (2009, ggplot2 - elegant graphics for data analysis, page 109) library(ggplot2) huron <- data.frame(year=1875:1972, level=LakeHuron) ggplot(huron, aes(year)) +

Package ismev, gpd.fit, and interpretation for statistics of extreme values
Dear All, I have a question about package "ismev", its function "gpd.fit", and interpretation of the results. I used the package ismev to do an extreme value analysis on a fire dataset. Two variables are used in the analysis. The focal variable is acreage burned per fire, ranging from 1 to 5000 acres per fire. In total, there are 69,980 observations. The date covers

Samba 2.0.5a & Solaris 2.6 Assistance
I just brought up samba 2.0.5a in a Solaris 2.6 environment. Smooth effort with no visible problems in CVS download, configuration, and make but attempts to reference data after connection yield this error. Has anyone seen this before and can point me in the right direction to to address? Thanks Andy [1999/07/31 15:14:30, 1] smbd/service.c:make_connection(521) agibson (209.31.144.167) connect

Samba 2.0.5a (Solaris 2.6) and NT SP5
Has anyone had a problem getting a samba share to mount on an NT system with Service Pack 5 installed? I have a share set up with guest only and guest ok set to yes and guest account = xxxx in the global section. I can get this share to mount okay on an NT system that has Service Pack 4 installed but not on the NT system that has Service Pack 5 installed. I have security = share set. I'm

Getting RH6.0/Samba 2.0.5a to join NT domain
I've used exactly that combination, and the domain join worked without a hitch. I had to go in as NT domain admin and create a server/workstation entry in Server Manager first, of course.

Problems with Samba 2.0.5a and w2k
The problem is actually very simple to describe. I manage a Linux fileserver. Most of the clients use Win98 or NT4 and that seems to work just fine - but w2k is an entirely different story. What happens is that no w2k can see the shares in the linux machine an when trying to access it w2k comes with something like "Service not avaible - connection closed". Now the really fun part starts.

Date/time bug in 2.0.5a?
Is this just me???? Just installed 2.0.5a for testing. Copying files (using explorer) from NT to Samba-2.0.5a (Solaris2.6 *and* Irix6.5) fails to copy the date/time stamp correctly (1.9.18p7 is fine, from the same NT system). 24/06/1999 11:59 (on NT) => 25/06/1999 17:14 (Samba) 25/06/1999 17:00 (on NT) => 25/06/1999 17:09 (Samba) (Yes, that is one 24th and three 25ths of

Win9x & Samba 2.0.5a
We have a system that uses SAMBA on HPUX 10.20 systems as servers and primarily NT4 Clients. We do however, have a few 9x boxes. We are running with Encryption on the servers, so no modifications are made to the registries of either types of windows boxes. This is my problem: We were running fine on 2.0.3, but when I upgraded the binaries to 2.0.5a, the 9x boxes could no longer see any files

Data corruption with Samba 2.0.5a and MKDE 6.15.430
Hello, Last week we switched our server from Netware 3.12 to Linux (Intel, Suse 6.3, Kernel 2.2.13, Samba 2.0.5a). We use an application that is based on Pervasive's Mikrokernel Database Engine 6.15.430. The database files are on the Linux server. Everything works fine as long as there is only one user working on the database. If a second user is trying to access the database, it will

Samba 2.0.5a problems
I've been trying to run 2.0.5a and I've run into a show stopper problem. When I try to start smbd and nmbd I get the following error message in the log files (this example from log.smb) : [1999/07/23 09:00:19, 1] ../samba-2.0.5/source/smbd/server.c:main(628) smbd version 2.0.5a started. 2.0.5a: smbmount 2.0 missing switch -c
Hi, In 2.0.5(a) is a new version of smbmount, version 2.0, latest before was 1.9 in samba 2.0.4b. The new syntax is smbmount //server/share /mountpoint [smbmount options] instead of the former smbmount //server/share [smbmount options] \ -c 'mount mountpoint [mount options]' Indeed the new version works, but to mount shares from my OS/2 server I need the mount option '-f
