Samba digest 2532 / Problem with "force create mode" et. al.
Hi,
Frankly spoken you have a real RTFM problem.
The manual pages for smb.conf say that "create mask" and "create mode" are
equal. It also says that there is only a "force XXXX mode" (where XXXX is
either create or directory). So a replacement of mask with mode will do the
thing.
The other mistake is that there is no "force create group" parameter. The

Printing Problems / SAMBA Digest 2072
Hello Brian,
There is a very annoying problem with UNIX systems and network printing. On
nearly all SYSV systems the spooler stores only the address of the
(temporarily) print file. This does not cause any problem if it is created
by a local application. If the temporarily print file was created via a
network application (Samba, NFS, etc.) it will be removed shortly
afterwards. In the most

Strange Problem Samba 2.04b and Outlook97
Hello,
I have a strange problem with Samba 2.04b and M$ Outlook97 on NT 4.0 SP4.
I am using a SCO OpenServer 5.04 system as mailserver (POP3) and nameserver
as well as Samba Server. For backup reasons I have installed Outlook in
such a way that its own mail file (postfach.pst) is on the Samba share. If
the NT box and Outlook are freshly started I can retrieve mails from the
POP3 or send

Maybe that's because the M$ "solutions" are crap, and much better
alternatives already exist.

Regarding Samba issue
I am experiencing a problem with all time stamps having the same date
and time stamp. I found this bug report
http://us1.samba.org/listproc/samba/June1998/0239.html
and see there is a fix. The question I have is has this issue been
resolved in later versions of Samba code. It would be easier to upgrade
than deal with a code change and re compilation.

sig11 with test36/37 on some emails
Sometimes I'll get an email from a luser which will cause the POP3 daemon to
sig11. The email "appears" to be legal. The sig11s only happen on specific
emails, and once I remove the emails from the server, the rest can be
downloaded. I gzipped the email, and its at
http://theapt.org/bogusemail.gz. While this example is international spam,
the sig11s happen with real emails too.

[SoC09-Idea] Movement Ecology add-ons for adehabitat package
Hi all,
here's a proposal for a SoC project on wildlife movement patterns analysis.
A MSc student is available to anwser the call, of course. The idea has already
been briefly discussed with the mantainer of the adehabitat package and the
AniMov project community.
Short description
Develop some add-on functions to use the adehabitat package to perform basic
movement ecology analysis, in
