ODP: Re: freeradius + NTLM + samba AD 4.5.x
Hi, thank you very much for testing everything out. Great work! One question: passchange - which application are working with passchange on radius ? In the moment every user with an expired password is NOT able to use services using radius for authentication (WLAN,VPN). Is there any documentation available ? ODP: Re: freeradius + NTLM + samba AD 4.5.x
Hello, I can definately confirm that it's working. My basic setup is: 1) Samba 4.7.6 AD DC (2 of them), compiled from source, on centos 7 2) Freeradius 3.0.13 + samba 4.6.2 as domain member, packages straight from centos repo. // I  tested also on freeradius 3.0.14 and samba 4.7.x smb.conf on the DC is pretty basic, most important is obviously in [globall]:         ntlm auth =

smb.conf for PDC
Hello, I am configuring samba the first time as PDC so that a user can login on different pcs with the same password. To do this, I have configured smb.conf as follows. I'd appreciate, if someone could see, if the file is complete to run samba as a PDC. [global] workgroup = windowsGroupname netbios name = ComputerName server string = Samba Server %v interfaces = lo, eth0 unis password

Login problems in Windows XP
First, I dont know if this issue is related to Samba or to Windows, but since all of our clients logon to a samba-served windowsdomain I suspect this problem at least is related to samba. Background We have 80 clients serving around 1000 users (this is a computerroom for students). Clients are running a Windows XP SP1 fully pathed installation. All users log on to a samba domain (samba

RE: samba and crash server
hi, the smbd daemons are fallting into process status "D" (uninterruptible sleep). The only way to ged rid of these processes is rebooting your system! To analayze why smbd is falling into status "D" you have to check your logs. Another option is building a strace profile of smbd to see what`s going on. cheers Stefan -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [Samba] RE:

freeradius + NTLM + samba AD 4.5.x
Hello, I've done some further testing, and I have to correct myself. I was (kind of obviously as I think about it) wrong about samba on the freeradius server requiring v. 4.7. What makes all the difference is the method used by mschap. Traditionally in freeradius in mods-available/mschap you'll use something like: ntlm_auth = "/path/to/ntlm_auth --request-nt-key

Installation globbers ssh_prng_cmds
Gidday, I've just tried installing openssh-2.2.0p1 and found that it globbers my ssh_prng_cmds file which has been customised from the normally installed one. On BSDi 4.0.1 it doesn't detect enough commands for ssh-keygen to be happy. Most of the commands do actually exist, but I have to specify where they are. Could someone please modify the installation scripts to either backup this

FYI, I managed to install Version OpenSSH_3.0.2p1 on BSDI 3.0. we needed this for an old Gauntlet Firewall. I received an the following error during make install (cd scard && make DESTDIR= install) make: don't know how to make ./Ssh.bin. Stop *** Error code 2 I edited the scard/Makefile.in file and changed install: $(srcdir)/Ssh.bin to install: Ssh.bin Then I made a distclean and
