[Flac-users] WinAmp PlugIn and Ogg framing.
Hello flac-users, I'm trying to play an ogg flac file in WinAmp 2.80 but I get nothing. I'm using the native Vorbis plugin and the shipped FLAC 1.04 plugin. I guess it's a conflict regarding which plugin "owns" the ogg extension or format. I'm not sure. But I wanted to know how good the ogg framing was. But I couldn't test it because metaflac doesn't

Recomendations for an ISDN-PBX to use with asterisk
Hi, I'm planning to buy a new ISDN-PBX (I hope this is the right term for an ISDN phone system). I would also like to connect it to asterisk. As far as I know there is no ISDN card where I can connect an ISDN-Phone to directly working together with asterisk (please correct me if I'm wrong). So what I was thinking of doing was to get a regular ISDN PBX and add a second internal S0 bus

Locking with M$-Access 97
This is a REAL problem on the way to world domination ;-) PROBLEM: since we moved a MS-Access MDB (16 Meg) to samba, it ist killing queries more than twice a day, loosing records, ... It seems the application has no chance to recognice locked records and inform the user. with smbstatus I get one locking entry for the first user accessing the database (like: DENY_NONE RDWR), the second is not

Windows 2000 boot to ram
Hi all, I found a strange behavior in memdisk: I build an image of Windows 2000 (Fat32) with geometric of C=115 H=255 S=63. I testet it as a real harddisk and it works. I boot it to ram with memdisk initrd=w2000.img from my first harddrive, as discribed to boot with syslinux. It crashs with reboot, the time is to short to recognice the appearing letters before reboot. (Can I stop the screen?)

"driconf" to try to solve "texture size" problem with beryl+radeon+dualhead+mergefb
As some e-mails ago, I'm trying to play beryl in my laptop. I successfully configured my xorg.conf (thanks to the comunity for the help that allowed me that). The problem: When I boot the laptop without external LCD/CRT, beryl is working fine, but when I boot it with the external, it recognice fine the external LCD and don't want to allow beryl run. What beryl says: === BEGIN === $

Urgent: DTMF does not work with rtpmap:101 telephone-event/8000
Hello asterisk-users list. I have been scratching my head for almost a week. We are trying to set a service with a company (ip=XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX) and dtmf is not working. In our scenario the SP is sending call to our ser server and ser is forwarding the call to asterisk. In the asterisk debug I can see the DTMF keys are coming but ivr does not recognice those keys at all. I can see this in the

wine.conf newbie problem +user32.dll
I seem to have gotten past one hurdle and on to the next. It seems that the problem that I was having relates to poorly documented changes in the config files in the HOWTO. I now have /root/.wine/config which seems to solve the old drive problem. However, here is my new error. [root@pato .wine]# cp /etc/wine.conf ~/.winerc cp: overwrite `/root/.winerc/wine.conf'? y [root@pato .wine]# wine

Issue with opening NoX thanks to OpenGL. (on a VPS)
So we got an Ubuntu 10.10 VPS, and go there with SSH putty, working with Xming as X server. This is what we did so far, to host a dedicated nox server. Code: apt-get update sudo apt-get install wine sudo apt-get install xorg wget *noxinstall url* unzip noxinstall.zip wine NoxInstall.exe (an installer and we put it in /root/Nox/) Wine wouldn't recognice a CD, so a crack gets installed

ip route - TOS argument does not allways work
hi all, I need different routes for packets with different TOS values, and tried to do this with ip. I noticed that ip does not recognice all possible values for the TOS byte, even when I enter them in /etc/iproute/rt_dsfield. to demonstrate this, I added prohibit rules for different marked packets and tried if the packets are dropped when I try to "ping -Q tosvalue <somehost>":

Changing file permissions from NT
We run a Network of Suns (running Samba) and PC-NT (version 4, sp3) machines, at work, and find it very annoying to be unable to change the file permissions of files from NT on the Suns. Is there any way to change the permissions from NT file explorer or otherwise ? Dave Kirkby

Centos and Software RAID
I purchased an Intel D945GNT motherboard and it comes in the BIOS with an option to create a RAID 0 or RAID 1 volumes using my existing two SATA disks. However when installing Centos 4.3 x86_64 I see the the installer recognices the two drives and does not "see" the RAID 0. Is that ok? Should I disable the RAID in the BIOS and then go for a LVM+RAID 0 setup in the installer ? Since it

Help I cant find where Java is installed.
I installed Suns Java but I don't know how to find where it installed to. Can someone tell me how to find it? Someone told me to do a Find -name java -print But all I got was a message saying I had mail. When I looked in the mail it was a log with a bunch of jibberish. Any clue what to do now? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

2.9.9p2 bug in PAM support
With OpenSSH 2.9.9p2 as the server, I'm not able to do scp or "ssh machinename command" in general to any of my Suns! I tracked this down a bit; the problem occurs only when PAM support is enabled. However, if I remove line 430 of session.c, "do_pam_session(s->pw->pw_name, NULL);" inside of do_exec_no_pty, the problem goes away. It looks like the following entry
