Anyone using fuse and/or sshfs under Centos 4.4?
Hi
A search of google failed to show any prebuilt rpms for sshfs and fuse.
I do see that fuse support is in 2.6.14 kernel which isn't a whole lot of
help.
Before I dive headlong into this has anyone successfully built fuse/sshfs
against Centos 4.4.
If so would you share your experience?
Thanks

lustre on debian
Since in Linux we are mostly a debian shop we''d like to stick with
debian for our calculation nodes if possible.
So I wanted to ask the lustre 2.2 instructions for Debian are they
more or less relevant to lustre 2.4/2.5 or am I going headlong into a
tall brick wall.
Also are newer clients backwards compatible with older server
software? I am currently just setting up a demo environment

xp machines and samab 2.2.8a problem
I am running Samba 2.2.8a on solaris 5.7 machines.
I have had 2 subnet working just fine for years.
I'm trying to add a 3rd subnet.
I am having a problem with my XP machines on a third subnet.
I have changed the registry so:
requiresignorseal = 0
and
requiresecurechannel = 0
and rebooted.
and
Enable NetBIOS over TCPIP is set.
I have two XP machines one with NETBEUI install and one without

WYSIWYG Editors and Rails
Hi everyone,
I''m currently investigating re-writing our School CMS application in
Rails and the only drawback I can see is there isn''t an ample supply (if
any) of WYSIWYG In-browser editors written with a raw Ruby backend. We
currently use KTML4 which is written with PHP as a base. I''m interested
to hear from anyone who''s integrated a PHP based editor into

Only Netbeui on the client is it possible ?
HI all !
I've read in a doc, that Samba is talking only with the clients where
Netbios over TCP/IP is running !
I guess it is true, but are there any solution maybe to connect with a
client where only the NETBEUI is the only one installed protocol ?
It would be from DOS, I have a DOS boot disk which is waking up the
Netbeui, and it would be difficult to prepare it to wake up the TCP/IP !

[LLVMdev] Compiler driver
Hi all,
I'm developing a custom back-end for an odd-ball architecture (but one that is still describable by LLVMTargetMachine). The toolchain that it will fit into doesn't have a linker as such, so I want to use assembly as the default output. I've got to the point of emitting working custom assembly for very simple C programs (i.e. ones that don't rely on libraries). At the

Wine and NetBEUI
Hello,
A client of mine has this ancient software called VideoPrinter (working on Win98) and an ancient hardware that connects to the PC through both LAN cable and serial (COM) cable. I decided to give this software a try with wine 0.9.60 running on Slackware 12, kernel 2.6.23.4. The software installs without problems and after adding the appropriate registry keys the COM is recognized. But the

Samba and netbeui
Hello all,
There is still a use for netbeui (non-routed protocol) in the
network. If you are using a VPN client that does not allow split
tunneling, you can still access printers on another local system with
netbeui. I would like to remove the windows system and have my print
shares on my Linux system with Samba.
Is all consideration of netbeui within the Linux/Samba environment
gone?

acts_as_habtm_list plugin
I''d like to announce acts_as_habtm_list plugin for rails.
acts_as_habtm_list is a Ruby on Rails plugin, that can manage ordered
lists through a join-table. It is providing almost the same Api as
acts_as_list. The position column has to be defined in the join table.
You can find additional information at:

Install it executing this command

Samba over IPX/NetBeui
Hello:
Is it possible to run SAMBA over IPX/NetBeui? (I will thank any suggestion)
I hava an small LAN of 3 computers, connected to the Internet through a Cable-modem with DHCP (the cablemodem and the computers are all connected to a hub). The CableModem assigns every computer a random public IP adress, but usually from diferent range (ie: 212.78.x.x, 62.57.x.x, etc), so I cannot get SAMBA or

Dragging and Dropping between lists
Hi there,
I''m creating a back end system where the user is able to click on a
category and then see two lists. One list is the list of artworks
assigned to that category. The other list is a complete list of all the
artworks that this user owns (minus those already in the category). I''m
looking for some online help that shows you how to allow those list
items to be dragged

1.9.17 printing across subnets
I cannot print across my subnets using microsoft win9networking.
I have two subnets 192.168.0 & 192.168.1 of which the linux
running samba server is the router using two ethernet cards .
Workstations on both subnets share their printers from win95.
Win95 machines from both sides of the subnet can telnet to both
ethernet cards on the server and can also ping all machines across

Can we still use Samba if routers have netbeui/netbios turned off?
Samba is working perfect on our main subnet, but it won't for any
additional subnets on this domain. We use NT authentication and my system
is an RS/6000. I just found out that our routers for these additional
subnets have netbeui/netbios turned off. Network Admin. said it's because
they're set not to allow broadcasting (and they're not going to start), and

Hi there, I''ve got the following code to generate two sortable elements
but whenever someone drags and drops an item, i only want it to return a

can be in any order and I don''t care. I can then delete those artworks

Devices not appearing/Manually add devices to Browse List ?
I'm not quite sure whether this is a plain browsing problem, or a wins
problems, or ...
I had wins running on one machine (Samba(2.0.5a)/SCO Unix), but my main
file server on another (Samba (2.2.1a)/Linux). I moved the wins support to
the Linux server, and at the same time I made the Linux server the Domain
Master Browser, but now some devices have dissapeared from the network.
