rsync .gz files?
I've run across a situation where I have a directory of .gz files. I do want to rsync this directory. I've tried without the --compress (because they are already compressed) but the files never get rsynced. Interactively, I get the following error: :rsync error: some files could not be transferred (code 23) at main.c(1045) In the /etc/rsyncd.log, for each of the files, I get:

Ocfs and EMC Powerpath
A couple years ago, we moved to Oracle RAC on Linux using ocfs that is SAN attached to an EMC CLARiiON. At the time, there was a reason that we did NOT use EMC's Powerpath (I just can't recall what that reason was). What I'd like to know is if there are any issues with introducing Powerpath now. * RHEL 2.1 AS * 2.4.9-e.38enterprise * ocfs-2.4.9-e-enterprise-1.0.13-1 * EMC

[Fwd: Re: Ocfs and EMC Powerpath]
That should say below, we are using Powerpath on the CX300's AND the CX600's... ----------------------------------------------------------------------- We are using Powerpath with CX300's and Emulex HBA's, also with OCFS on Red Hat 2.1 AS. Kernel upgrades are the biggest issue that we have, as some of the drivers are dependent on modules built for specific kernels, and if your

EMC CX4 Clariion
Hi, We had received a new EMC storage (Clariion CX4) and the EMC analist has told us that CentOS aren't on their support list, but RHEL are :) Well anybody on the list has a CentOS host talking (iSCSI) with an EMC storage, preferably using the EMC Powerpath software, and can talk about you experience? Or I will need to buy some REHL licenses ? I'll put my hands on it only next

EMC Clariion stanby power supply
Hello All. I'm working on building support for the Clariion range of standby power supplies. I've found you can get hold of these easily on ebay like: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EMC-CLARiiON-Standby-Power-Supply-118031985- SPS-1000W-/160373295258 There is a problem that I haven't been able to work around. After 90 seconds without power, the device shuts down. This is because

FW: Import a SAN cloned disk
-----Original Message----- From: Bone, Nick Sent: 16 December 2009 16:33 To: oab Subject: RE: [zfs-discuss] Import a SAN cloned disk Hi I know that EMC don''t recommend a SnapView snapshot being added to the original hosts Storage Group although it is not prevented. I tried this just now & assigning the Clariion snapshot of the pool LUN to the same host. Although the snapshot LUN

CentOS and EMC PowerPath/Naviagent
Is anyone using CentOS 4.4 with an EMC Clariion SAN? In particular, I want to know if PowerPath and Naviagent will work on a CentOS 4 system connected to a san using Qlogic or Emulex cards. I tried a couple years ago with Fedora Core 1 or 2, and couldn't get the kernel modules from PowerPath to work since the kernel wasn't the official RHEL one. I'm most interested in

Parameters setting in functions optimization
Good afternoon everybody, I'm quite new in functions optimization on R and, whereas I've read lot's of function descriptions, I'm not sure of the correct settings for function like "optimx" and "nlminb". I'd like to minimize my parameters and the loglikelihood result of the function. My parameters are a mean distance of dispersion and a proportion of

10+ TB RAID experiences?
I'm looking for RAID options for at least 10 TB to attach to a Dell PowerEdge 2950 running RHEL 5 64-bit Server. The system will act as a single sign-on server for XP and Linux, thus storing user's data from mounted home directories exported from the server to various workstations. It may also house a database. I'll need a storage solution starting at least 10 TB. Most of the

slow file creation
Hi all, I'm troubleshooting an ocfs2 performance problem where creating files in a directory containing ~180k files is taking significant time to complete. Sometimes creating an empty file will take >100 seconds to complete. This is a three node cluster. I'm currently running OCFS2 1.2.3-1. Are there any changes in a recent version that may address this issue? What should I look

Expanding OCFS on EMC MetaLUN's
Just wanted to see if anyone has had the opportunity to expand a MetaLUN on an EMC CLARiiON. The O/S is Red Hat AS 2.1 running Oracle 9i RAC (4 node). The filesystems are a series of LUNs combined into a MetaLUN that is formatted and mounted as OCFS. We are ready to expand a MetaLUN, but wanted to see if anyone has done this "on the fly", ie: Expand the MetaLUNs while the systems are

MAPI Properties?
I'm using Dovceot/IMAP on Linux and Outlook clients on WIN7 workstations. Mail on Linux is stored in Maildir format. I'm searching for where Outook keeps its information on color categories in IMAP. According to Diane Poremsky at slipstick.com, "Outlook stores it in the mapi properties of each message. If you use MFCMAPI to viuw the messages, you'll see the properties."

I now SEE THE Linux machine name in my Network Neighborhood!!!!!!!!! I can ping both machines without any problem from both machines (W98 and Red Hat 5.1). I have edited the registry to allow plain text passwords. When I try net view from my W98 machine I see

Really high io wait times with OCFS2 in a mail server
Hi there. We have just setup a mail server with storage in a EMC Clariion SAN with fiberchannel connections. We're using two HP Proliant servers sharing the mail filesystem with OCFS2. The mail filesystem has several big directories having the biggest one over 7000 user directories. Some of the users have over 4000 messages, using Maildir as mail layout. We are experiencing really high
