File descriptors in pipe.c
I am working on rsync tool. As rsync sends data over SSH in non-daemon mode, it forks the SSH process in pipe.c function. For the communication between the parent rsync and child SSH, it uses the socket pairs. As socket pairs are bidirectional, only one pair can be used for communication between the parent and child. e.g. socketpair(xx,xx,xx,xx) returns -> to_child_pipe[2]={3,4} then these

Declaration of RuleThickness() in src/main/plotmath.c (PR#7380)
Full_Name: Wolfgang Huber Version: R-2.0.1 OS: HP-UX B.11.23 ia64 Submission from: (NULL) (81.104.215.6) Hi, I hope I am not missing something basic... I am using a somewhat exotic compiler and OS, but if I understand what I am seeing the problem is more general: In src/main/plotmath.c, the following function is defined /* Thickness of rules */ static double RuleThickness() { return

adding a select or a poll?
Since I put my hands on dovecot, I had this recuring problem at startup: Imap-login would'nt connect to the 'default' socket. I've been strugling with the fact that it would eventually connect on a slow or moderely fast machine but not on a really fast machine. According to Unixware doc, the FIRST connect ALWAYS returns -1 and errno=EINPROGRESS AFAICT, imap loop is like this:

[PATCH] --source-filter && --dest-filter for rsync 2.5.6
Hi, I needed to filter content of files (encrypt), before they are sent over the network to backup server. The easiest way to do this was modifying Kyle Jones's "--dest-filter" patch. Somebody was asking there this feature in the past, so I'm sending this patch to list. Implementation details: -filtering disables rsync alogrithm -source filter makes temporary files in /tmp

OK, I will do that next. Err#150 EINPROGRESS
Hi, I have a problem with a csw Samba 3.0.13 Installation. From time to time, Samba processes stop responding. The result is that the files which are locked by that process are not accessible until I kill that process, obviously. Loglevel 3 doesn't report anything. The only error message I get (see header) is reported by truss Here's the last few truss lines: getuid()

rsync v2.6.9: small patch fixing NORETURN failures
Hello, as of gcc v2.7.2.1, the noreturn attribute needs to be given *after* the prototype declaration and not before, but for gcc v3.x, things changed for this attribute again, since gcc v2.5.x did it the way, newer gcc versions prefer it... I've applied a small unified diff, fixing this stuff. THX for listening. CU Tom. (Thomas M.Ott) Germany -------------- next part -------------- ---

patch for combining detect-renamed and fileflags patches (fwd)
Dear collegaues, please evaluate the patch attached, which allow to use both --detect-renamed and --fileflags extra features. This is meta-patch which sould be applied to detect-renamed. fileflags patch should be applied first, following by the modified detect-renamed patch. It is included in current FreeBSD port, but it seems it would be much more useful to be supported by samba

New UPS Support: Eaton 5S 1000
Hi, Thank you for taking a look at this. This is 13.10. I realize Saucy is no longer supported. This system is slated for replacement, but in the meantime I'm responsible for it. The repo version of nut was 2.6.4-2.3ubuntu2. Installing it was useful as it gave me the nut user and group. The compiled version errors out whether or not the repo version is installed. I just did strace.

[PATCH 0/9] drm/nouveau/kms: A bunch of runtime_pm fixes
While working on refactoring how we handle connector hotplugging/probing + a bunch of misc DP stuff, I found a bunch of runtime_pm errors that were mostly introduced by me at one point. Oops. A lot of these aren't triggered consistently on a lot of systems, so it's not terribly surprising these got swept under the rug. Lyude Paul (9): drm/nouveau/kms: Handle -EINPROGRESS in
