Samba 3.0 and ETA?
After reading the scattered documentation and FAQs, it appears that a
current release 2.2.4 Samba server can not be a BDC. Furthermore, it
appears that the Samba PDC does not implement enough of a true Windows
PDC to replace a Windows NT PDC as relates to NT client/server security
needs.
Will 3.0 Samba servers be a drop in replacement for Windows NT domain
servers or can this not be

PATCH: better progress reporting
I've been looking at the --progress reporting, which is somewhat
improved these days. But look at this output of this evening rawhide
mirror update:

Rails 3.0.6 ETA?
Hello,
Is there some Rails 3.0.6 ETA? I am asking because there are some
security holes in Rails 3.0.3, which are currently available in Fedora
15. So is it right time to update Rails to 3.0.5 or is it worth of
waiting for 3.0.6?

Book: Multilevel Modeling in R ETA?
Hi R folks (Dr. Bates in particular),
In August 2005, Dr. Bates mentioned that the documentation for lme4
"will be in the form of a book with the working title 'Multilevel
Modeling in R'" and I'm just wondering if there is an estimated date of
publication or if it's still a long way off. The Rnews article does a
great job of introducing the package, but I'm

ETA for 3.10.12 (was "Planned for the 30th of Mar, 2018")
Hi,
We postponed this and I did not announce this to the lists. The number
of bugs fixed against 3.10.12 is low, and I decided to move this to the
30th of Apr instead.
Is there a specific fix that you are looking for in the release?
Thanks,
Shyam

Any ETA on syslinx 6.03 GA?
All,
To me, 6.03 is looking good. Really good!!
I'm doing a presentation for a local Linux Fest, about building a lab PXE
server. One topic is the new native support in pxelinux for UEFI-based PXE.
As you know, previously you had to use the hybrid approach of using
pxelinux.0 for BIOS boot and grub2 for UEFI boot. So you had to maintain
two different boot menus with slightly different
