transfer FSMO roles from Windows DC
I have the Active Directory domain with Windows 2008 R2 domain controller and Samba domain controller on CentOS 7. Samba is 4.3.5 (self-compiled). Forest and domain levels are Windows 2008 R2. After joining Samba to the domain as the domain controller there were no DC=ForestDnsZones and DC=DomainDnsZones records on "OUTBOUND NEIGHBORS". I fixed it with ntdsutil, as it's written here

writefd_unbuffered failed to write 32768 bytes: phase "unknown"
Hi, I receive this error when rsyncing. I suspect this is because of network problems. But the 'Invalid argument' and 'phase unknown' makes it very unobvious. ... packages/scribus/scribus-1.2.3-0.rf.src.rpm Read from remote host rsync.sw.be: Invalid argument rsync: writefd_unbuffered failed to write 32768 bytes: phase "unknown" [sender]: Broken pipe (32) rsync:

rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (Broken pipe)
I'm experiencing some unexpected behavior with rsync v2.5.6. After looking around it seems like several people have experienced similar problems in the past, but those appear to be old bugs that are solved now. Also doesn't appear to be any direct bugfixes made for this issue since 2.5.6. The strange thing is that things seem to work when I use ssh for transport. However now I need to

writefd_unbuffered failed to write 4 bytes
Hi All. On Mac OS10.4, using rsync 3.0, it stops during a transfer. I mount an SMB share, and then use the line: sudo rsync -avhi --delete --stats --timeout=360 --progress --log-file=/Volumes/backup/20080429/rsynclog.txt --exclude="*:*" /Volumes/RAID_One /Volumes/backup/20080429 There's a few terabytes of data, and it never finishes a complete run. It can stop at anywhere during

writefd_unbuffered failed to write - Broken pipe
I am using Rsync 2.6.3 , and have tried rsync 2.6.2 also. I am attempting to push about 990G from one machine to another. Whenever I do this, it processes about 1/3 the way through and I receive the following error during the transfer, and it stops. Could this be a problem with it running as a cron job? The command I am using is /usr/local/bin/rsync -acv --stats /data/ server::data Any

possible writefd_unbuffered error; what am I screwing up this time
I am trying to execute rsync manually at a "remote" server to test out --read-batch execution. I created the batch files on another server and then rcp'ed them to the "remote" server. I had some issues of not having the correct working directory on the remote system when I did an rsh "remote" rsync --read-batch ...... so I opened a telnet session on the remote

Handful of files are giving me error 13, directory executable bit issue
I am getting a handful of these errors, and I am not sure why. The directories in question have rights like this: drw-r--r-- 2 osstbb osstbb 42 2008-05-02 00:04 12981826/ As root, why would it matter if it has executability? I can read it just fine on the server. Or is it an issue when it tries to create it on the -client- ? Is there a way to fix this? I can chmod 0755 the dirs on the server

rsync to a destination > 8TB problem...
I am trying to use a large (10TB) reiserfs filesystem as an rsync target. The filesystem is on top of lvm2 (pretty sure this doesn't matter, but just in case.) I get the following error when trying to sync a modest set of files to that 10TB target (just syncing /etc for now): rsync: writefd_unbuffered failed to write 4 bytes: phase "unknown": Broken pipe rsync error: error in
