configuration question.
Your users have rsh access to the machine, and are getting wherever they
want, using the server:/path syntax.
if they were using the server::module syntax, they would be restricted to
only what's provided by the modules. If you don't want them getting
everything all over the system, you will need to prevent shell access.

Disconnected Drives Reconnecting but red cross remains on share problem with clipart
When I last posted the email below the reconnect issue did not seem to be
causing any problems, we have subsequently had some users reporting that
they cannot open clipart. This only seems to happen when the red cross is
displayed, if users perform a:-
?
NET USE H: /D
?
which removes the drive
then they preform a:-
?
NET USE H: \\SAMBASERVER\HOME <<file://\ SAMBASERVER\HOME>>

Libnss-mdns problem
Hi there!
I've got a problem with running wine under Debian.
When i try to start a download following comes :
root:~# wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/Valve/HLServer/HldsUpdateTool.exe -command update -game brink ~/server/brink
It appears that libnss-mdns is installed on your system,
but lib32nss-mdns is not. Please note that Wine will not be

important caveat with Rsync on NT and dayligt savings time
Hi,
just a small warning about something that has, like we experienced just
last weekend, great consequences.
We rsync more than 20 Netware servers through a mapping on an NT machine to
central Rsync destination servers (also NT). Last weekend our clock changed
to Daylight Savings Time. It appears that NT changes the file stamps on
NTFS volumes accordingly (Q129574 on their suppor site). This

need some guidance with a test
This is part of a rails project. The following method is part of the Ams
class (a rails model). I''m a bit unsure of the rspec/bdd way of testing this
method.
def persist_as_domains
@current_domains.each do |d|
dom = Domain.new
dom.domain = d
dom.source_id = 1
dom.at = Time.now
dom.save
end
end
The following is what came out when I tried to write my test. Notice

PDF * powerpoint files need the x bit set under linux
We are trying to migrate to samba from NT4 data servers, We don't currently
allow users the execute permission on data drives, so I have setup data
drives with a creat mask of 0660 which seems ok. The problem I'm having it
that both powerpoint and PDF files seem to need the 'x' bit set before users
can edit or open the files. Has anybody else had this problem? and if so
could you

strange noise from icecast
It worked OK for past 4 days and now again with that noise. I restarted icecast server and again I have clear sound. It looks that the problem is in icecast.

Deliver is saying this on two specific emails. Other emails to these 2

thing questionable I see is:

Can I use "mcnemar.test" for 3*3 tables (or is there a bug in the command?)
Hello all,
I wish to perform a mcnemar test for a 3 by 3 matrix.
By running the slandered R command I am getting a result but I am not sure I
am getting the correct one.
Here is an example code:
(tt <- as.table(t(matrix(c(1,4,1 ,
0,5,5,
3,1,5), ncol = 3))))
mcnemar.test(tt, correct=T)
#And I get:

Introspecting Active Record Associations
Hi,
I''m looking into write scaffold generators that will, amoung other
things, scaffold active record associations (eg. generate select
boxes for belongs_to where you can choose a parent object) for quicker
prototyping. But...
My question is: Is there anyway of finding out what associations
exist from examining the lodel classes themselves or indeed any other
way of finding out this

"isolinux.bin missing or corrupt" when booting USB flash drive in old PC
Hi,
for some reason David always omits the Cc: to this list.
He has now reported to Martin and me the outcome of the latest two MBR
test proposals.
- His BIOS announces no LBA addressing but another extra feature.
This lead to unexpected success in one of David's tests.
- The newest fix proposal by Martin is a full success !
Distros which produce isohybrid should consider to already
