: use of Error() for repeated measures with more than 2 factors
I have been trying to analyse an unreplicated repeated measures 2-level
factorial design with 11 factors using aov() with Error(), similar to
that described in "Notes on the use of R for psychology experiments and
questionnaires" by Jonathan Baron and Yuelin Li (see the example of Hay's)
I have found that there seems to be a limit, in the number of factors in
Error() . For

Perhaps this problem is windows specific.

These are the only callers for removexattr and only _posix_remove_xattr has
the potential to do removexattr as posix_removexattr already makes sure
that it is not gfid/volume-id. And surprise surprise _posix_remove_xattr
happens only from healing code of afr/ec. And this can only happen

Reg: Porting UFS/VxFs to ext2 (fwd)
Hello Gurus,
Greetings.
I have been assigned some work on the development of a migration
tool. The requirement is that it has to migrate the data on a UFS/VxFs
filesystem to an ext2 filesystem.
What are the technical apects I will have to look into to achieve
the same? Is it possible to change the on-disk structure of the UFS/VxFs
filesystem to an ext2 filesystem? The question may

Samba 2.2.3a on HP-UX 10.20
Hi,
when I am connecting to samba, openingor saving a MS Word document, nearly
every time there is a core-file.
In the log-file there I found following message:
[2002/08/12 15:13:44, 0] lib/util_sec.c:assert_gid(111)
Failed to set gid privileges to (-1,-24) now set to (0,0) uid=(0,0)

What does it mean?

Ram,
As per the code, self-heal was the only candidate which *can* do it.
Could you check logs of self-heal daemon and the mount to check if there
are any metadata heals on root?

Sanoj,
Is there any systemtap script we can use to detect which process is
removing these xattrs?

ZFS write time performance question
HI,
The question is a ZFS performance question in reguards to SAN traffic.
We are trying to benchmark ZFS vx VxFS file systems and I get the following performance results.
Test Setup:
Solaris 10: 11/06
Dual port Qlogic HBA with SFCSM (for ZFS) and DMP (of VxFS)
Sun Fire v490 server
LSI Raid 3994 on backend
ZFS Record Size: 128KB (default)
VxFS Block Size: 8KB(default)

rsync for migrating oracle datafiles
Hi - a question for all ye rsync guru's out there...
I have a need to migrate some fairly large Oracle datafiles from a UFS filesystem to VxFS (VERITAS), however I am not being allowed nearly enough outage time to perform a standard file copy migration. The datafiles (of which there are about 4 are about 50GB each in size and on separate UFS filesystems.
I am considering instigating a local

Please use the systemtap script(
https://paste.fedoraproject.org/paste/EGDa0ErwX0LV3y-gBYpfNA) to check
which process is invoking remove xattr calls.
It prints the pid, tid and arguments of all removexattr calls.
I have checked for these fops at the protocol/client and posix translators.
To run the script ..
1) install systemtap and dependencies.
2) install glusterfs-debuginfo
3) change the path

Can DTrace display non-instrumented function argument counts and types?
Is it possible to use DTrace to display the number of arguments and their types for userland or kernel functions that are not explicitly instrumented or documented by their authors? We''re talking about functions provided by Veritas VxVM/VxFS and the like, and for example, we might want to try tracing I/Os from App => VxFS => VxVM => ssd driver to see where I/Os get aggregated or

ZFS versus VxFS as file system inside Netbackup 6.0 DSSU
Hello experts,
We have a large implementation of Symantec Netbackup 6.0 with disk staging. Today, the customer is using VxFS as file system inside Netbackup 6.0 DSSU (disk staging).
The customer would like to know if it is best to use ZFS or VxFS as file system inside Netbackup disk staging in order to get the best performance possible.
Could you provide some information regarding this

ZFS and VXVM/VXFS
We are looking at the alternatives to VXVM/VXFS. One of the feature which we liked in Veritas, apart from the obvious ones is the ability to call the disks by name and group them in to a disk group.
Especially in SAN based environment where the disks may be shared by multiple machines, it is very easy to manage them by disk group names rather than cxtxdx numbers.
Does zfs offer such

ZFS root ARC memory usage on VxFS system...
Hi Folks..
We have started to convert our Veritas clustered systems over to ZFS root to
take advantage of the extreme simplification of using Live Upgrade. Moving the
data of these systems off VxVM and VxFS is not in scope for reasons to numerous
to go into..
One thing my customers noticed immediately was a reduction in "free" memory as
reported by ''top''. By way

Yet another zfs vs. vxfs comparison...
Hi,
sorry if I am brining up old news, but I couldn''t find a good answer searching the previous posts (My mom always says I am bad with finding things :)
However I noticed a difference when creating a zfs filesystem compared with a vxfs filesystem in the available size. ie.

If you see it again, you can use this. I am going to send out a patch
for the code path which can lead to removal of gfid/volume-id tomorrow.
