Greetings, here is the output of the 'configure' step and the compile step (using the Compaq cc compiler that comes with Tru64 V5.1A. The configure reported success and most of the compile steps cam through error/warning free except for the one that stumbled. Can someone help me out here? I am willing to provide a binary for Tru64 V5.1A if we can swat this bug. We depend greatly on Rsync

Heya All, Im having difficulties compiling rsync. when i run 'make' the build errors out on me. I run configure without any fancy options. The same goes for the make command. I have had this error, or a similar one since version 2.5.1 op to at least v2.5.5 I am using "-O3 -mcpu=i686 -march=i686" as additional compiler flags, however removing them does not make difference.

"make install-strip" (in rsync-2.5.x) tries to strip the manpages and thus fails; attached is a patch fixing the Makefile logic (and also adding DESTDIR -- convenient for package-building or test-installing). 2. Since writing this I've recompiled with zlib 1.1.4 and everything appears smooth. Since this is intermittant, I'll send it off anyways in the hops that someone else may see it.
