Wine and Star Craft 2 not working from DVD
I Installed the new star craft from the dvd. I have tried it with settings for every version of windows from XP up on both the normal wine and wine with the patch mentioned in the app db. It crashes with the unpatched version and with the patched version it correctly shows the loading screen but when it comes to the menu the screen is just a bunch of random colors, NOT THE MENU, the ENTIRE screen

Civilization 4, Beyond the Sword crashes with "Out of memory
Hello everyone,
Since a few weeks, Sid Meier's Civilization 4, Beyond the Sword 3.17 has become unstable on my system. I had no problems running it before. In fact, I submitted test results to the AppDB about it here: http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=12753&iTestingId=34283
However, at the moment, Civ4 will crash after only minutes of play, with an out of

Help getting Torchlight 2 Beta running (Mac)
Hey everybody, I'm VERY new at using Wine, so forgive me if this is a foolish question! Recently I've been trying to run the Torchlight 2 Beta under Wine? the game itself runs flawlessly, but in order to get it to run past the beta expiration date I have to run another application (I'm not entirely sure what it is, my belief is that it emulates a server of some sort to play on). No

Final Fantasy XIV Online Beta/Benchmark
Hi there
Square Enix' new MMORPG is nearing its release and there are alpha/beta clients available. The beta does not work at all in wine, just weird network connection errors when it trys to connect to their servers. The official benchmark starts but 3D is not rendered, just a black screen.
This is the console output:

Strange crashing behavior
Hi,
I'm trying to run a game called Star Sonata (http://www.starsonata.com/download.html) on my iMac (Mac OS 10.5.8) using Wine 1.2-rc7. If I run the installer first, I can choose to launch the game directly and it runs without crashing (at least, without crashing systematically). However, if I quit and relaunch the game, it crashes as soon as I get to the log-in screen. Below I have

Evil Genius Crashes unexpectedly
Hey there!
I've been playing Evil Genius on steam and for the most part it works fine, but frequently (sometimes more frequently than others) it crashes at very inopportune times. The wine page for the game talks about unexpected crashes, but it sounds like these are related to the game autosaving, and I turned off my autosaving yet this persists. Here's what my terminal (The first bit

Star Sonata - wine client error:25: write: Bad file descript
Hi, I was planning to take a look at a little game I found called Star Sonata. I'm very new to Linux and I am running Ubuntu 10.10 with Wine 1.2.1. I looked up the game on winehq (http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=13183) and it is listed as Gold and runs. The install ran fine, but when I tried to run the game it crashes on startup with the following:

SOLVED: World of Warcraft d3d crash and rendring problems
Hi wine people,
with some help from the Nvidia forum I managed to solve a problem with World of Warcraft 4.x.x that I suspect is directX / Wine related:
Enabling -d3d9 and -d3d11 would cause the below mentioned problem with Wine 1.2.2, while it would crash World of Warcraft program under Wine 1.3.15 (Ubuntu 11.04 debs), while OpenGL runs perfectly (30-60 fps with all opengl settings on ultra):

Rugby 08 : Texture issue
Hi,
I tried to play Rugby 08 through wine and it doesn't run properly. It runs without any crash and it's even faster than running it on Windows ( because it gets some issues with Dual Core on Windows).
So everything's fine but the players are just black shapes, there isnt any textures for them, and this is what I get in the shell:

Hoping that someone have any idea how to get Arma running properly. Maybe there is something I have not tested or a developer can take a look?

NWN2: No Models visible?
After lots of trouble with an ATI Card (better say ATI Linux drivers...) I switched back to an nVidia Card (GeForce 7600GT) and tried to *finally* get NWN2 working with Wine (1.1.3 on debian Lenny AMD64, 2.6.26.1).
Well - the Game starts, but first thing that doesn't work as it should is the "graphic options" menus. Some Lists are empty, e.g. for the "Texture Filters" or

Star Sonata
Hi. I've had issues with my Windows Laptop, so I've been trying to get Star Sonata working using Wine. It runs horribly under Cedega.
I've recently upgraded my system to the latest Ubuntu (8.04), and upgraded Wine to 1.1.2. I've got an NVidia GeForce 6800 GT card, and I'm running Pentium 4, x86 architecture.
At this time, with the default settings, there are no graphical
