Buggy Starcraft Broodwar sound after Ubuntu update
After I updated Ubuntu to 11.04, Starcraft Broodwar sound is buggy. It is delayed and sometimes it is not reproduced at all, for example at the start. With Ubuntu 10.10 I had no problem. Any ideas?

starcraft install wierdness.
I know, Starcraft has been covered much, but I still cannot make starcraft complete its installation. The installation halts while adding shortcuts to the start menu. As someone (Ove I believe) mentioned, Starcraft adds certain registry keys after creating shortcuts, requiring the installation to continue. I have modified wineshelllink in order to gain some insight: #!/bin/sh echo "$@"

Hi, All! Maybe anybody deals with problem similar to the subject? I've used versions of Wine from 20001202 till 20011004. System: RedHat 7.1 + XFree-4.1.0 Under newer versions of wine I can play StarCraft (BroodWar 1.08b) in windowed mode (without DGA support - with DGA I've got an frozen screen and must to kill X server). Starcraft 2 beta coming soon
Starcraft 2 is the new next Blizzard RTS game. It's going to be released later this year, but the beta is coming soon. It will probably work nicely with Wine. Just like every other Blizzard game is working. Still it would be nice, if we'd get perfect support for it. It would be great if we would be able to fix all problems on the beta stage and then the final game would work perfectly on

Starcraft install won't run
Hello fellow wineries! I am not new to Linux, have been using a few years now, however I am not an expert my any means either. I am attempting to run Starcraft (Blizzard) in wine on my Debian system. The install will not run. I have tried several different compatibility types (win95, win98, XP among others) but with no avail. The install.exe (or setup.exe) on the cd will not run. It opens up

Updating Starcraft?
I'm having a little trouble with trying to install newer versions of Starcraft (updates or Brood War) on a win-free Wine installation. I can run the installer off the original Starcraft CD, and it puts all of the files in the right place, adds a couple registry entries, and then chokes on creating the entries in the Start Menu. Still, I can kill the process at that point, and I have a usable

Starcraft crashes on drone death
When a drone is killed on screen, Starcraft suffers a memory read error and crashes. If the drone's off screen, nothing happens. To make sure I didn't just have a corrupted copy, I tried with another disc and got the same error(tested both with the disc in and using the copy-to-drive method added in one of the patches). The game's patched to 1.16.1(with Broodwar installed) and I'm

I have a question, I had installed kubuntu jaunty in 386 architecture and wine runs games well good (I have an acer aspire one NETBOOK). Recently i have installed the version of kubuntu lpia, everything is fine, but when you install the version of wine for lpia some games that run well on 386 dont run in lpia. My question is that if I report the bug here or in the ppa where does the installer.

diablo 1 fun and troubles
I have installed Diablo 1 lately and found Wine can't load the game succesfully. I see a few frames of Blizzard's intro, then it freezes. With Cedega 4.0 it works pretty well> I played for a couple hours then found later I can't load my games back. Ain't that funny? It seems to be a menu problem. Another thing I noticed with Cedega is, multiplayer hangs really quick.

StarCraft beta downloader folder dialog issues, how to solve
Well, I found this bug with WINE's folder dialog returning something that the StarCraft beta downloader does not expect. So no matter what folder I chose to save the game in it said "Invalid path chosen! Please choose again." But I can't report it in a useful manner because the beta downloader should not be legally shared. But I was able to bypass this bug by modifying the

Starcraft 2 Patch Issues
Hey everybody, relatively new Linux and Wine user here, and I'm having some issues with Starcraft 2. I'm able to download Starcraft 2 just fine. My issues are with the patches. Once I try to start up Starcraft, it goes to the patching window as it normally does in Windows. However, after a couple of seconds, the window just closes. I've tried running the Blizzard Updater.exe, but
