ATI FireGL v5200 and Guild Wars
I'm at my wit's end here. I have an IBM T60p with an ATI FireGL v5200 graphics card, I'm running kubuntu 10.04, and the radeon open source drivers for the graphics card. 3D works great when I run glxgears. I can even use wine to open Guild Wars--the login screen works great. The character select screen works wonderfully. The actual game...looks like something the cat yakked up. I get a

Guild Wars minimizing problem
Hi all. When trying to minimize the guild wars window from fullscreen, all it seems to do is draw a screenshot of my current desktop and stick it in a window and call it the guild wars window. I can't minimize or maximize this window, so getting back to the game doesn't happen, I must close it and restart. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I am using Linux Mint 9 with the latest

Why does Guild Wars keep flashing and displaying horizontal bars after it is launched
Hi, I recently installed WINE on my computer. I checked if Guild Wars is compatible with WINE and it said it would work flawlessly. I installed Guild Wars through WINE then ran the game. When I launched the game all you can see is a deformed version of the game with horizontal bars flashing everywhere. I even installed my graphics card through the Hardware Drivers section in Ubuntu.Does anyone

Guild Wars 1 and Stops Win95 and Win98 Support
Dear Wine-Community! Guild Wars stops on 2012-14-06 the support for Windows 95,98. But since Wine-Users could switch the Windows version to Windows XP or above we are not effected.. are we? This should be an action to made the Guild Wars Client safer and to protect User Accounts. Couldn't guess what security Mechanism Windows 2000 do support that is missing in Windows 95 and 98. No doubt

Guild Wars
I cant seem to get Guild Wars to run at all. When I launch it I I get an error "Guild Wars has encountered an unrecoverable graphics driver error and must terminate". This is a Guild Wars message and not a Wine message. So I'll cover the basics. My system is a P4 3.2 Ghz with an AGP bus, and 2gigs of ram. I'm currently using an ATI based Sapphire 3850 AGP card 512m, and running

Guild Wars Client
I'm attempting to use the Guild Wars Client to see if it will work on WINE, but it keeps displaying an error about not being able to write to the proper directories. I told it to install in C:\Program Files, and my .wine/fake_windows/* folders all seem to have correct permissions. Any ideas why this would happen? The client is only a 60k download (it downloads the rest itself):

Guild Wars (Platinum Application) now broken
Hi forumers, any Guild Wars players around here? This use to be a Platinum application in WineHQ and I've played it for ages with Linux. As of today (2012-Feb-23) they made an update in the game (they make that often) and it seems to have broken down the first grade Wine compatibility they had. Here is what I get (running it with the Terminal to get the output of Wine errors): *** glibc

Guild Wars 2 for wine - what is needed?
Very soon Guild Wars 2, the MMO we've all been waiting for (right? right!) is coming, and I would like to do my part to make sure that it runs under Wine from day one. Especially as GW1 is one of the top-performing games under Wine. Now I am not an avid coder, but I will pre-purchase the CE, and with it comes access to all the beta events between April 10 and release. So there should be

Regedit problems-Guild Wars
I'm trying to configure guild wars to work, and that "Oh it works perfectly!" thing is really making me mad. I've been trying for a very long time now (off and on for a year), and I finally stumbled upon this: Code: If you are having graphics issues, use regedit to try some registry keys: * UseGLSL=disabled * DirectDrawRenderer=opengl *

Guild wars 2 and other translucent windows
How's wine support coming with translucent windows? Guild wars 2 has a new launcher that makes extensive use of transparency to mimic the in-game interface, but of course, it turns into a massive black square here. Screenshot of the launcher, all that is black is supposed to be transparent: http://i.imgur.com/BqNo7.jpg I know it's nitpicky but google implied some progress on this and I
