I just wanted to share with the list one of the changes which gave me the most significant improvement. As per http://www.williambrownstreet.net/blog/?p=387, add the following kernel arguments to the GRUB boot configuration: pcie_aspm=force

Amnesia - The Decent running very choppy
Hey. I'm new to Linux based operating systems. A friend of mine introduced me a year ago and I finally decided to try it so try to bear with me here. The problem I've been having is that I've managed to get Amnesia to work under the latest Wine version (1.3.31) but the game is really choppy. I've tried messing with the Wine configuration and the in-game configuration but it

Are you still setting LIBRARY_PATH or LD_LIBRARY_PATH, as mentioned in: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/binutils/+bug/738098 ? Thanks, Jay.

My hardware is Intel Core i7 4GB ram, Nvidea GeForce 310m graphics card. I installed my graphics drivers in Ubuntu 11.04 using the recommended techniques. My video drivers are noted as experimental however all features and 3D support is working in Ubuntu 11.04 gnome environment. I did not use the .run file downloadable from the Nvidea website. I have read the sticky about no sound. I have no sound

Ubuntu Natty / WINE / iTunes, uninstall
Hi all, I installed Ubuntu Natty Narwahl ,then WINE and finally iTunes (using WINE) but have found iTunes is simply too slow and many features don't work as they should. So I've decided to do away with iTunes and just stick to one of the Linux players. However, whenever I use the WINE uninstaller, the progress window says the operation completed but the iTunes (and Bonjour, etc) names,

A "wine" command tells me wine isn't installed, which I guess it isn't, and "wine64" gives me a segmentation fault. Do I need a symlink? ubuntu$ wine notepad The program 'wine' can be found in

Cannot start Amnesia nor Penumbra via Steam
Greetings! First of all, I would like to say thank you to everyone who are spending their time into making Wine what it is, and better! I would offer my help if I had the ability to actually do something, but I have yet much to learn, but in the future, perchance... Anyways! A few days ago, I thought I would play some Penumbra: Overture. I have played it before, so I was a bit surprised as it
