Recurring error
I'm very new to wine and haven't really had much experience with working programs like it in the past so I'm not very good with solving problems that arise in it. However after looking through the faq and scanning the forum a bit I still haven't found a straightforward answer of how to deal with this. I'm running Max os X 10.6.8 and wine seems to have installed and I did run an

"running wineinstall as root" error - Mac OS X
I run Mac OS X 10.6.5. There are a bunch of Windows programs I would very much like to run, and my latest OS update broke my copy of CrossOver Games, so I decided to get Wine. None of the ten binary download packages on the download page said Mac anywhere on them, so I decided I would have to download the source code and run from the command line. I don't like this, since I'm not

Tip to compile a 32bit version of Ruby on Snow Leopard
Hi guys, I hope it''s not too off topic on a Rails forum, but I spent so much time on this I thought I should share it here - hopefully it will help other people. I had to compile a 32bit (i386) version of Ruby 1.8.7 on Snow Leopard (my app is using a 32bit only lib). So I configured the compilation as such: ./configure CFLAGS="-arch i386 -D_XOPEN_SOURCE=1" LDFLAGS="-arch

Installation of XiphQT component in Snow Leopard
Hi I installed the XiphQT component into a folder I made called "Components" inside my user "Library" folder. So far I can report it works and I have been able to play an ogg embedded audio file in a web page using QT. I was just wondering if the XiphQT component would still work if installed into the QuickTime folder in the main Library folder where component items

" After read an entire thread, I can overcome the problem and think that my explanation will help the others, though this thread is already 10 months-old. In addition, the below steps to put 2 codes were not mentioned in the tutorial by David Baumgold at

Several folks have been asking about how LLVM is used in Snow Leopard. Now that it has shipped, I updated the Users page here: http://llvm.org/Users.html#Apple One of the major new features of Xcode 3.2 is the integrated static analyzer. Ted will update http://clang-analyzer.llvm.org/ with more details when he has time. -Chris
