WIne - HL2 and cursor
I'm having an issue with WINE and HL2 and games on steam. I am a new Linux user (sorry). I can't get HL2 or any games to go true fullscreen to cover my panels on the top and bottom and also in Audiosurf and HL2 and whatnot I can't get the cursor to register properly. It's always above where the actual cursor is on the screen. Is there a way to fix these 2 issues?

HL2 crashes, when I break some glass!
I am running wine 1.10 with the latest nVidia drivers, the 180 series. Now, everytime I shoot at the glass, or somebody breaks it, hl2 crashes without any unusual output. Just all it does is exit. Even if I throw a grenade, and go away, it will crash when I return to the place and make it load the picture. Any help will be appreciated!

Kernel modules: nvidia, nvidia-173, nvidia-current, nouveau
Since upgrading from Ubuntu 10.10 I have had problems with graphics. The problems started after I initially upgraded to Ubuntu 11.04 but then installed xubuntu-desktop over it, but I have had the same problem all my fresh installs of Xubuntu 11.04 too. FPS previously averaging about 30 or 35 FPS while playing an OpenGL game with WINE now starts at 20 FPS for 2 or 3 minutes and then slows down to

Steam (HL2) locks up on 64 bit Ubuntu
Yesterday I downloaded and installed the latest version of Ubuntu 8.10 64 bit, and after setting up my hardware I installed Wine 1.1.12, and have been working on getting HL2 running, but with little/no success. I got Steam installed, but when it opens none of the HTML pages render (saying "HTML is currently disabled."), and when I go to the My Games tab to have it download any of the

(Some) HL2 games won't start but HL2 will.
Hi. I recently moved over my old home directory to a new box. The old one was running a some very old version of wine on Ubuntu 10.04 that I actually hadn't run in quite some time. The new one is a Debian squeeze with squeeze backports enabled. The new PC is running wine 1.4. The graphics card in the old one was an Nvidia 9600 GT. The CPU was an AMD Athlon 64x2. The monitor was

Howdy, Not sure, but it appears that OpenSSH_4.3p1 on solaris creates bad wtmpx entries during login? mgoebel pts/5 Wed Dec 31 19:00 still logged in It is creating entries for Dec 31st 1969. residual plots
I've fit a linear model to my data set using the <lm> function. One of the outputs of that function is a vector of the residuals. I would like to do a residual plot of this data versus a predictor variable, but the length of the residual vector is shorter than the length of the predictor variable vector. This is because when <lm> computes the residual vector, it deletes entries

samba4 + openldap: provisioning isnt working
Wiki seems to be out of date here. The wiki reference's [1] [2] a "setup/provision-backend" script, as well as a "setup/provision" script, yet current git only has a setup/provision executable. Some #samba and #openldap IRC advice was that provision-backend wasnt needed anymore, but based off the errors i'm seeing, there's definitely _something_ missing, I just

Asterisk not sending bye message to original UA
I am trying to use asterisk for an shared line gateway. When moving from one phone by placing the call on hold then having a second phone pickup that held call by sending asterisk a replaces header (http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3891.txt) Asterisk does not seem to send a "bye" message to the original UA leaving the first phone stuck in a holding state. Am I missing something here? Here

Question/concern about bsm auditing option on solaris
Hello, I downloaded and compiled the Mar 2, 2005 snapshot and compiled it with bsm auditing for solaris turned on. I've been noticing about a dozen or so of the following messages per day now. Not sure exactly what it is, or if it is a big issue. Mar 3 13:46:10 machine_name sshd[15298]: [ID 800047 auth.crit] fatal: mm_request_send: write If it matters it is running on solaris 8

[LLVMdev] ML types in LLVM

However, I want a fair comparison between LLVM performance and the native x86 codegen. If I don't give LLVM the same information the x86 codegen has, it's an unfair comparison.

Cox proportional hazards confidence intervals
I am calculating cox propotional hazards models with the coxph function from the survival package. My data relates to failure of various types of endovascular interventions. I can successfully obtain the LR, Wald, and Score test p-values from the coxph.object, as well as the hazard ratio as follows: formula.obj = Surv(days, status) ~ type coxph.model = coxph(formula.obj, df) fit =
