packages for etch lagging behind :(
how come only 1 out of 3 versions of wine actually gets built for etch?
i mean i understand that the packages get built by different people so theyre not updated synchronously but ubuntu, suse, mandriva etc are all up to date at 0.9.60, whereas the latest etch package ist version 0.9.58, TWO versions behind !!! no fair!
i mean cmon! debian is just as mainstream as the rest of em, so give us a

Discrepancy between intervals.lme and coef.lme
I'm using R on Windows v2.0.1 with the nlme package (v3.1-53) and am finding some unexpected discrepancies in the output of intervals.lme and coef.lme. I've included a toy dataset at the end, but briefly, the data are longitudinal data from couples in marital therapy. Each spouse's relationship satisfaction is measured 4 times; I've fit both linear and quadratic models to the

Samba - Swat
My husband has installed Samba - swat and wants to link all the computers in the house, so "he can back them up daily."?
I read the About info on your website, but still have a few questions:
1. I work online, can Samba capture any information (passwords, screen shots, personal information, administrative log on) that might jeopardize my job's security?
2. Can personal emails be

New Wiki HowTo: Restoring deleted AD objects
Hello,
after 2 month of being offline, I finally got a working internet
connection again and can announce myself back to continue working on
HowTos in the Wiki. :-)
During the last time, I did a lot of research about the possibilities
and limitations of restoring deleted objects in a Samba AD. I think it
is a very helpfull topic for administrators. The results I wrote down in
a new HowTo:

densCols: what are the computed densities and how to create a legend
Hi,
I'm using the densCols function for a scatterplot and cannot figure out 1) how to extract the computed densities, and 2) how to create a legend based that represents the upper and lower ranges of the densities.
For example:
movers.den <- densCols(move$x, move$y)
table(movers.den)

[Asterisk-Dev] RE: [Asterisk-biz] Asterisktraining andcertification :: AstriconTraining
Here here, a bit of documentation online would cut down considerably the
traffic on this list asking how to questions.
Cmon sokal, put the questions and training material online.

Need a factor level even though there are no observations
I'm in this situation:
factorlabels <- c("School", "College", "Beyond")
with data for 8 families:
education.man <- c(1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2) # Note : no "3" values
education.wife <- c(1,2,3,1,2,3,1,2) # 1,2,3 are all present.
My goal is to create this table:

SER, OpenSER, Kamailio, OpenSIPS -- what are you using?
One of the above is frequently used to front-end Asterisk.
I used OpenSER to front-end a farm of Asterisk servers and was very happy
with it. The ability to take a box out of service or to route a specific
DNIS to a box for testing rocks.
Since OpenSER has died (I don't care about the
politics/personalities/trademarks), Kamailio and OpenSIPS have risen from
the ashes. What are you using?

Echo Cancellation
Hello,
I am testing speex 1.1.6's echo canceller. I am using testecho.c, with a
few modifications to get it to run on Windows.
My problem is that I am unable to get the echo cancellation to work
correctly. I am working on an audio conferencing software, and one issue
we have is sometimes the microphone picks up what is being played
through the headset, resulting in an echo of the other

Nothing pops when I launch wine
Hello,
Here is my problem :
When I try and run anything with wine, nothing pops. The console log reports no error, apart from the basic "fixme" and all the kaboodle. The program seems to be running but no window is shown.
The same thing happens with winecfg.
I'm using Gentoo 64, with Gnome, and Compiz. Compiz is run with --indirect-rendering. My "graphic adapter" is an

Moneyworks Gold
Hi all
First of all I'm completely new to Linux and WINE. I've been toying around for about a week now and have to say I'm quite impressed. So far I've manage to get Office 2007 working through WINE hassle free :). I've managed to find some great alternatives to almost every other program I use in Windows. Unfortunately Moneyworks is an accounting program which is necessary

Neverwinter Nights suddenly not working
I've had NWN running on this PC just fine, but all of a sudden, it fails
to run, giving me the infamous 'encountered a serious problem' dialog.
System is Ubuntu 10.04, wine 1.3.14, nVidia Corporation C67 [GeForce
7000M / nForce 610M] (rev a2).
Full terminal output at http://pastebin.com/WmCEteZK
Any ideas?
Many thanks,

Extremely bad performance in games
Hello everybody,
the problem is that I have awful performance in games.
CPU: Intel Core2 Quad 2.66 GHz (q9400)
Memory: 4 GB DDR2 800 MHz
Video: HIS Radeon HD 4850 1024 MB
OS: Ubuntu 11.10 x86_64
Wine: 1.4-rc6
The video driver is proprietary, the latest one from the official ATI website.
The game I'm trying to run is GTA IV. Yes, it's not kinda 'light' game, but it used to give me
