I get these error messages when I launch from console, but they dont't make me much smarter. I'm running Fedora 14 x64 with the standard open source non-Nvidia Nvidia drivers. Code:

Steam crashes after login - any troubleshooting t
The Steam client crashes after I login. After submitting my credentials, Steam displays a dialog box informing me the client is 'connecting'. I then see the Steam main page and a blank news page displayed for roughly a second or so before the client crashes. I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 maverick which I've installed on a usb flash drive using a capser-rw file for persistence.

black ops multi : mouse buttons inactive
Hello there, i have a weird problem with Black ops : when i launch a multi-players session, the game menu shows up, sound works, but clicking the menu items is no-op. :( Launching a single player game, OTOH, is even worse : game freezes when displaying the "click to start" welcome message. :( In both cases I have to kill wine from the terminal to exit. It happens both in fullscreen

Steam not working on Debian 6
Hello. On other thread I posted that I could not get Wine working on centos 5.5. Well, I migrated to Debian 6 and got wine 1.3 working by .debs provided by winehq. Now, I'm wanting to run Steam (www.steampowered.com) on Debian 6, but it is crashing with nothing. It just updates and then starts and crashes. Here is the log: root at ice:~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Steam# wine Steam.exe

Re: No sound in Wine 1.3.37 (tried known solutions already)
I am experiencing what appears to be this same problem. However, I am already running a self-compiled Wine, so that alone cannot be the solution in this case. I am running 64-bit Debian, tracking testing. I have compiled Wine myself, from git revision b05be807583eca27dc0a4de896ba901bac54088c ("Release 1.4-rc5."). As with the previous report, winecfg reports that it's using

Steam (HL2) locks up on 64 bit Ubuntu
Yesterday I downloaded and installed the latest version of Ubuntu 8.10 64 bit, and after setting up my hardware I installed Wine 1.1.12, and have been working on getting HL2 running, but with little/no success. I got Steam installed, but when it opens none of the HTML pages render (saying "HTML is currently disabled."), and when I go to the My Games tab to have it download any of the
