3 OS/2 Server, 120 user, we waited to avoid W*-Server, is now the time? How? (no win english ;-))
Hi,
the subject says almost everything.
For a better understandig, here is the background:
after sending pathworks servers to EOL we installed a OS/2 server system.
And we waited a long time to go to the next evolutionary step. Until now.
We are using file and print services. The user count is growing to 150. We
have 2 locations connected by a VPN.

valid-users still not work in 3.0.23a
Hello,
i was using the debian version of samba 3.0.14a. Everything works fine. Then I upgraded to 3.0.23 because of Windows Visa support. After that upgrade shares with "valid users" could not be accessed. So I waited for 3.0.23a and upgraded to this version. The problem still exists. The following message is in the log: User andi not in 'valid users'.

Question about Wine 1.2.2 and running uninstalled Windows programs
Using Wine 1.2.2 on a Ubuntu 10.04 box.
I have a Windows app I need to run. There is no install program for the
app -- it's a simple copy of the executable and the dll's to a
directory.
I notice that, if I copy the full directory into the Wine Program Files
directory, I can navigate there, click on the executable (after
indicating it is as such in the Permissions tab), and the app

Can't find any programs???
OK, I'm running Windows XP, with various programs installed. I have a dual boot with Ubuntu 10.04. Wine is installed and I have Notepad working just great. I can browse C: but can't find any of my programs except Internet Explorer, which I obviously don't want to use.
So, what did I do wrong?

Can't add new users
Hi all,
I tried to add a new user to a Samba share, I did all the usual: made a Unix account on the Unix server for the user which was the same as the user's window's UID. Put her name as a valid user for that directory in server:/etc/opt/samba/smb.conf, and stopped and started server:/sbin/init.d/samba server; nothing worked.
Interesting observations: 1- After performing the steps

Using the Rprofile file to automatically plot data on Sta rtup of R version 2.0.1.
Dear John,
I belive your problem has to do with the sequence of startup. I think that
.Rprofile is called before the required libraries are attached.
You might like to try putting your code into a .First() function and run it
that way.
Cheers,
Andreas

Build a R into a single static library on windows?
Hi R users,
I've been developing a C++ library that depends on R through R.dll. The
current way is to have R directories somewhere and have R_HOME pointing
to it. This works. But it's inconvenient when deploying this library
since the whole R distribution has to be deployed with it.
It would be very nice if there is some way to build R into a single
static library that any C/C++ program
