Access Suddenly Cut Off to Samba Shares
Hi. I'm hoping some samba genius has a clue about what's happening on my system. I am using Mandrake 10 "Community Release". It comes with Samba 3.0.2. I have been using it without problems for two weeks, and before that I had Mandrake 10 betas and Release Candidates running on the same machine. Today, all of a sudden, I can't access any of my Samba shares over my

Main Window
Dear list I'm new to the list, so maybe my question was allready answerd. Anyway checking the faqs did not show an answer. If I start a selfprogrammed windowsprogram on Windows, it shows one mainwindow and one insert in the taskbar. On working, this program opens additional windows but the taskbar remains with only one insert. If I start this program under wine, everything works as

RPM package wish list
hello, Does our beloved Centos project have a page where one can request that an RPM package be built, especially for C5? How about alerts when those requests have been satisfied? I know about 3rd party repos like rpmforge, epel, and kbextras. I can search those in YUM. Centos seems to have specialized as a server OS in the past, but my experience is that it is an up and coming

"taskbars" or "windows lists" in Wine
I am running Wine 1.2-rc7 on a Ubuntu 10.04 minimal install. I have installed X, and Wine seems to run fine. The problem is that applications that want to make a "window list" or taskbar don't draw them. It isn't a fatal error, the applications simply act like nothing happened. For instance, when I use BBClean (blackbox for Windows), it shows the panel but not the window list.

Recovering data from disk with loose cable
We have a disk array behind two external SATA port multipliers (four disks on each multiplier) which has been running btrfs (RAID 1 for both data and metadata). Unfortunately, earlier today it seems one of the SATA cables came loose, resulting in the kernel (2.6.37) eventually OOPSing although apparently not before writing quite a bit of data. Upon reboot, I was met with the dreaded,

heroes3 on xubuntu jaunty, 2 problems
Hi, I recently upgraded my eee 904HD to xubuntu jaunty (clean install), and there were 2 problems. First, when starting Heroes3 the xfce taskbar was visible even though the application was full-screen. Clicking on the application didn't hide the taskbar. Switching to another window and then back to the app window did the trick. Second, after some time the sound stops. None of these problems

A Sims Oddity
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=16664 As much as I am leaping for joy at the thought that i'll be able to play the Sims 3 without switching to Mac OS X or Windows, I have a question: 1. How would they know if the game works or not if it doesn't come out till July??? Also, I find it a bit of an oddity that The Sims 3 will work under Wine straight away when

Non Samba question
Hai Bob, > I hope you remember me from a few years ago. And I apologize for the direct message. > I have a almost non-Samba question, I think. So, I do not want to post it to the forum, yet. Yes yes, i remember you :-) , and i have no problem with direct messages. How are you doing? I'll reply to the list with a CC for you. Because this involves samba also. And this might help

Hey you guys, ok I have been trying to get The Sims 3 base game running on my Lenovo L512 on Ubuntu 10.04 for several months now and I just don't seem to be successful. So I was hoping, maybe you can help me out on this one: I installed it using PlayOnLinux (v. 3.8.8) which installs Wine 1.3.4, I run the game on Wine 1.2.1 (since thats the working Version, see here:

fixme:dbghelp_dwarf:compute_location Unhandled attr op: e0 - when running The Sims 2
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hey guys, I just subscribed to this list - maybe discussions related to this error are already going on, but I couldn't find a lot when I googled it. I will just assume this isn't known or fixed yet, let's see how it goes. Whenever I run The Sims 2 with a No-CD crack (otherwise it won't run) in Wine, I get the following error:

Using class or global variable in rails - Are there any threading issues or race conditions?
Hi All I am newbie to Rails.. and I am trying to invoke a third party webservice using SOAP::RPC::Driver object. Now I can''t store that in session (it throws TypeError) so the next best thing (on the suggestion by Ola from this mailing list) I am storing it in Class variable or I can store this rpc_driver object in global variable. In brief my concerns are related to race conditions that

Uploading videos to Bugzilla and AppDB
I think that should be interesting if we could upload videos of the applications that we test on wine to the AppDB and Bugzilla. I recently tested the WebM encoder (http://www.webmproject.org/) from Google and it seems to produce videos with a great quality and small file sizes. The most recent versions of Chrome and Firefox are able to play this format nativily. This would help people share their

The Sims
I have a copy of the Sims installed on a Win2k FAT32 partition. I know for a fact that The Sims works under Wine (Mandrake's "Gamer" edition), but I get an error when I try to run it. The error is as follows: "Game cannot be started because: There is not enough memory or hard drive space to run. Exit now." I do have plenty of free space and plenty of memory. Does

Bugzilla should be application oriented
I think that Bugzilla could have an option to join all issues that are related to an specific application. For example, if someone is testing Oblivion, there should be a place where we can relate every issue that is happening to Oblivion. So, instead of filing a new entry on Bugzilla, people could only add another issue to an application. In this way, people can provide more info about an

Metropolis code help
Dears, I have the below code for metropolis of the GLM logit (logistic regression) using a flat prior. Can someone help me modify the prior so that the model becomes hierarchical by using a flat prior for mu and sigma, the derived density for beta ~ N(mu, sigma^2)? Actually I took my code from a teacher that posted on the internet and modified it to the GLM logit but I can't adapt it to the
