Testing UBUNTU 11.04 Beta 2 with wine 1.3.15 from the download page. Winetricks did not come in with the download and is not in synaptic. Hope this will be fixed soon.

I have a couple of programs, one a windows .exe, the other a .java program that re user created programs that support SimCity 4. I've tried adding them to various places around wine's file system, but no soap. How does one do this? Does wine include the JRE to run java stuff? I can edit the registry if only I knew what to put in there and where.

gmax won't start up after the initial time. The messages I am getting indicate that it has become case sensitive with respect to names. The installer put in a directory named 'stdplugs' but the program wanted it to be 'StdPlugs'. So I renamed it. It still says these libraries fail to initialize. On several occasions lately I've had to force installation of updates. The update-manager app; has been flagging some of them with an invalid permission code or some such. Perhaps the algorithm for this has changed with 11.04?
