Unable to use alsa, unusable driver for winecfg
Got a problem with wine. I compiled the 1.1.24 version and a lot of things work very fine. But I can't use the Alsa driver output. When launching winecfg and selecting the Audio tab, a dialog box tell me that the driver "alsa" is present in the registry but unusable and asks me to remove it from the registry. I don't know why the alsa driver is unusable. I have the correct

Alsa audio -- FYI update
Alsa audio started working a couple of days ago with wine and then stopped working yesterday. Here is my experience. Pulseaudio cannot be removed any more. So I reinstalled the system and left it there. I compiled wine git and installed, and then installed DNS 10. Then I re-booted, ran killall pulseaudio in terminal, and started the program with winecfg's sound set to alsa. Everything

ALSA and MIDI
Can anyone help me get MIDI working with Wine please? I'm on wine-20050628, which I installed with the ./tools/wineinstall script. It's a pure wine installation. (I have a Windows ME partition, but I'm not using it.) I'm using ALSA with Linux 2.6.x. I installed Band in a Box - according to the application DB this works under wine, and indeed, it does load and display the main

ALSA and an intel i8x0/SiS SI7012 sound card
Hi, I've been try to get sound in wine (20040121) working on my machine for while now. As you've probably guessed I've got a SiS 7012 (which uses the intel i8x0 modules) and alsa (either natively or OSS emulation.) google came up with a few hits about this not working in the past, namely: http://www.winehq.org/hypermail/wine-devel/2002/12/0281.html But I'm not sure if this is

Foobar 2000 and Wine: terrible sound problem.
Hi, I am new here. Ever since I use Ubuntu Linux I've used Wine. This worked nice until version 1.3.x; 1.3.7, I believe. Now I cannot play music anymore with Foobar2000 and the new version of Wine. The problem is that the sound is very distorted every now and then and it even stops sometimes. Initially I've done some tests with Pulse Audio disabled because according to some users that

WINE audio drivers
Somebody knows how do I set wineoss.drv or winealsa.drv to use the second sound card instead of the first one? Currently I'm using winearts.drv, but want to get rid of arts, cause wine is the only one on my box using it. Thanks.

wine 1.3.12 - alsa not showing in winecfg > audio
I'm running debian 6 on x86_64 installed 1.3.12 using the .debs from http://dev.carbon-project.org/debian/wine-unstable/ when I head to the audio tab in winecfg, i see plenty of modules EXCEPT for alsa. After thinking i lost my mind, i uninstalled wine1.3, and then re-installed. I wanted to make sure i didn't force the installer (as if a person can overlook the complaints). Yes,

alsa not available in winecfg under karmic?
I upgraded to karmic yesterday, and ran winecfg. The list of possible sound systems has shrunk to three: oss, jack and eSound. I tried running winecfg plain, and with padsp and pasuspender prefixes. Susan

None of the audio drivers seem to work.
I'm using Ubuntu Hardy Heron with a newly installed Wine 1.0.0. When I go into the Audio tab in winecfg and "test sound", it always comes up with a message saying "Audio test failed!" The other thing is that when I run GTA: San Andreas, it comes up with a message saying that it couldn't find an audio card so it doesn't run. Has anyone else had this problem? Any

Audio Tab in winecfg Crashes
As the title states, when I click on the Audio Tab inside of WineCFG it crashes horribly. I looked for a way to set it up manually through the registry but I didn't see anything so if someone could tell me how to set Wine to use ALSA or the opposite (OSS) I would be much obliged.

Alsa: underrun occured
I've seen a couple topics that deal with this error, but they're all really old and they didn't help, so I'll just create this. I'm trying to get audio to work. I just installed Ubuntu 10.04. Sound works for everything but wine. I open winecfg to test the sound, but get nothing and along with this in the terminal: Code: err:alsa:wine_snd_pcm_recover underrun occurred Now

x86_64 compile from source has no alsa
Hi, I have been trying to compile wine from source, and whilst everything works I fail to get alsa support. I am on Fedora 8 and have all the dependent packages installed as per the wiki. (http://wiki.winehq.org/WineOn64bit#head-6a1af3960b16c81218ffda50417528f289ffe30f) I can replicate the issue on my i386 by removing/renaming the file winealsa.drv.so from /usr/local/lib/wine. This file is in

The good old winecfg audio tab
Ok, I know this is probably very redundant, but I'm getting the Audio tab crash with winecfg. The error output is: wine: unhandled page fault on write access to *insert hex numbers here* (thread 0009) Modules: Cannot get info on modules while no process is loaded etc. After the last few hours spent surfing dozens of forums and threads, none of the fixes have worked. lotro - no sound or options alsa/wine 1.3.27
Pre wine version 1.2.26 sound worked fine in lotro and the in game audio options page showed the sound card in a dropdown box and titles for all of the sound option slide bars. In 1.3.26 and now 1.3.27 there is no sound in game and the audio options window does not show any sound card or titles for the sound options or various volume slider bars and all of the bars are set at minimum. Sound skips in all games since Wine 1.1.6
In 1.1.5 the sound/music in games played allright. Since 1.1.6 it skips badly - plays for a couple of seconds, then stops for half a second, then plays again, then skips and so on. Happens on every game on Steam - Team Fortress 2, Everyday Shooter, Peggle Extreme - and also without Steam - Icy Tower. I have Razer Barracuda AC-1 sound card. I've found that in Winecfg when I choose Alsa driver
