Plotting the occassional second label
Dear useRs, I'm trying to plot spray quantities against dates, and label the points on the plot. Basically quite simple, but sometimes two chemicals have been used and are listed in separate rows in the table as below; then the labels are written on top of each other. > spray SprayDate PD Trt Qwater Qai 1 2005-03-09 Spidermites Pegasus 1300 1.04 2

Help getting Torchlight 2 Beta running (Mac)
Hey everybody, I'm VERY new at using Wine, so forgive me if this is a foolish question! Recently I've been trying to run the Torchlight 2 Beta under Wine? the game itself runs flawlessly, but in order to get it to run past the beta expiration date I have to run another application (I'm not entirely sure what it is, my belief is that it emulates a server of some sort to play on). No

Something similar or better than HUD Pro?
Is there something similar or better than HUD pro out there for asterisk PBX. HUD pro is wonderful thing, but they require complete Fonality product to be purchased first, and don't sell it as a stand alone product. If someone is not interested in Fonality product but is ready to purchase some good interface like HUD, what are the options? -- Zeeshan A Zakaria -------------- next part

Client saw something shiney -- Fonality HUD
An Elastix client saw a Fonality HUD demo and fell in love. I'm not a fan of Fonality as a company, but what do you think of HUD? 1) Does it bring real value? 2) Do I have alternatives? -- Thanks in advance, ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Steve Edwards sedwards at sedwards.com Voice: +1-760-468-3867 PST Newline

funny plotting
Hi, I just wanted to plot a boxplot with a nice curve going through it, I thought this would be a simple task but for some reason I can't get the two graphs on the same page accurately. Enclosed is the code showing the two plots seperately and together. I would have thought it should work if I could use boxplot() then plot() overlayed but it won't allow the command add=TRUE (which

Hi, I need to create a text file in the following format, > 1 100.0 0 > 0 0 > 1 1 > 0 0 > 1 1 > # > 1 100.0 0 > 0 0 > 0 1 > 1 0 > 1 1 ... where # is part of the format and not a R comment. NIMBLE package for hierarchical modeling now on CRAN
NIMBLE version 0.6-2 has been released on CRAN and at r-nimble.org. NIMBLE is a system that allows you to: - Write general hierarchical statistical models in BUGS code and create a corresponding model object to use in R. - Build Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC), particle filters, Monte Carlo Expectation Maximization (MCEM), or write generic algorithms that can be applied to any model. -

where can I find source code for particle filters applied to stochastic volatilities?
Hi all, Could anybody point me to some overview/survey papers about using particle filters and sequential monte carlo methods to estimate stochastic volatilities? I couldn't find any such articles giving a big-picture view of the literature. How do these estimation methods compare to EMM and other Bayesian methods for estimating stochastic volatilities? Also, I am looking for some

Issue with opening NoX thanks to OpenGL. (on a VPS)
So we got an Ubuntu 10.10 VPS, and go there with SSH putty, working with Xming as X server. This is what we did so far, to host a dedicated nox server. Code: apt-get update sudo apt-get install wine sudo apt-get install xorg wget *noxinstall url* unzip noxinstall.zip wine NoxInstall.exe (an installer and we put it in /root/Nox/) Wine wouldn't recognice a CD, so a crack gets installed

Re TrixBox
Hey Guys We are replacing a BM4 with a trixbox (asterisk) virtual numbers as the customer wants to move the callcentre. They are asking for an equiv to the ipview I gather HUD may be or the panel view The problem is that we need to see (a) total calls in the queue (b) calls for specific DID - How can you give 1 DID preference to another DID ie DID 61740410001 = Fred Electrical DID

Changing the binning of collected data
Dear All, Apologies if this is too simple for this list. Let us assume that you have an instrument measuring particle distributions. The output is a set of counts {n_i} corresponding to a set of average sizes {d_i}. The set of {d_i} ranges from d_i_min to d_i_max either linearly of logarithmically. There is no access to further detailed information about the distribution of the measured sizes, but
