Wine compiles but dosen't run
Since version 20020509 I've had nothing but problems, so I decided to reinstall the OS, format all partitions, and reinstall all drivers and programs and updates in the hope that wine will then work correctly. It's taken about 11 hours; I've now installed wine again, but for some reason I had to do make install --ignore-errors; wine did not start after wineinstall; I now get this

When rebuilding new 1.3 version, uninstall first?
When pulling a new version of the Wine1.3 source from Git, do I need to first uninstall the current the current wine1.3 before building and installing the new version? If so, what's the command for that, since Wine1.3 is installed with tools/wineinstall instead of make install? Or do I use 'make uninstall' anyway? Or can I just overwrite the old version?

The source file wineinstall needs translation
Hello, I have compiled the source of wine for the first time but I had not installed any package as flex and I get an error message. This error only showed that you must install the package, but in English and would rather useful for people who compiles for the first time, appeared in their language. You simply could detect the language before starting to compile a file and include constant

Segfault when compiling Wine 1.0 from source

The wineinstall is segfaulting, and the culprit might be an utility in the /tools directory. The error message in question: make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/user/wine-1.0.0~winehq0~debian~4.0/include' make[1]: Entering directory

can't find tools/wineinstall
Howdy. I have SuSE 7.2 and installed wine via YaST (wine rpm). I do not have windows on my computer at all. The docs tell me to run tools.wineinstall, but I do not seem to have that on my system. I'm stuck. I've created C:\windows, C:\windows\system, etc. and I can run the command wine --version, but that's it. Ideas? Thanks :)

"running wineinstall as root" error - Mac OS X
I run Mac OS X 10.6.5. There are a bunch of Windows programs I would very much like to run, and my latest OS update broke my copy of CrossOver Games, so I decided to get Wine. None of the ten binary download packages on the download page said Mac anywhere on them, so I decided I would have to download the source code and run from the command line. I don't like this, since I'm not
