wine users - Jun 2009 - error: ‘FT_MulFix’ undeclared here

Hi,

I am using ubuntu 9.04. I have installed ubuntu 9.04. And then downloaded
wine-1.0.1.tar.bz2 from winhq/download site. Then follow following steps:

1) Untar files:
    tar jxvf wine-1.0.1.tar.bz2
2) cd wine-1.0.1/
3) ./tools/wineinstall

During step three, following error comes:

You're freetype is too new. Upgrade to wine 1.1.24.
