Diablo 2 issue with direct3d
I'm running wine 1.2.2 and used the blizzard installer while downloading everything off of their site for d2 - No expansion yet. I tried to run d2 to make sure its working up to this point before I continue to install lod. I get an error that goes like this: Error 25: A critical error has occurred while initializing Direct3D. I thought wine didn't support direct3D and that was why I was

Smoothly alt+cursoring in and out of fullscreen wine games
I've had CS:S installed before and there wasn't a problem. Basically I want to be able to alt+cursor left and right out of Counter Strike: Source to my other workspaces in Ubuntu 9.10, and when I alt+cursor back to the workspace running CS:S let it still in full screen mode. At the moment the game follows me to the new workspace minimized, and I have to manually click on it in my lower

possible regression in wine1.2-rc7 - GUI and VSTs
hello, I have been using wine for quite a while, with many applications. mostly though, i am using wine for VST support via wineASIO. For the most part, this method works extremely well. many of the plugins i use work pretty much flawlessly. the only real exception is that occasionally the VST's GUI will cause an xrun in jackd. this hardly ever matters, as most of the time i am not using

Fullscreen support on dual head with virtual desktop
Is there a way to force the fullscreen property on wine virtual desktop? Since i'm running dual head with xinerama I usually run some applications in fullscreen on one monitor (like remote desktop) while still being able to use the second monitor Until recently I ran wine this way too, since a legacy hack in compiz fusion made it fullscreen, but an upgrade "fixed" the bug I had

"Unredirect Fullscreen Windows" instead of disabling Compiz?
It's common knowledge that disabling desktop effects (or disabling compiz) helps game performance in wine. Somebody mentioned that the Unredirect Fullscreen Windows compiz option (see http://wiki.compiz.org/GeneralOptions ), settable via ccsm aka compizconfig-settings-manager fixes performance problems just as well as disabling compiz does. I hadn't heard of that before. I never run

Game won't go fullscreen
Alright. So I'm trying to play a game in fullscreen mode but it keeps getting forced into a 640x480 box in the corner of my main monitor. I've got a dual-head NVIDIA card (7900GT) hooked up to two monitors via DVI with TwinView and I'm running Ibex 8.10, KDE 4.1.4. I've run it in the terminal and I get errors referencing XRandR and how it doesn't have 640x480 @60 listed as

Scarface: The world is yours wont go into fullscreen.
Scareface plays just fine when I use the arrow keys, but the mouse is completely broken. Aside from that in Unity it doesn't go into full screen and the side bar always messed me up. It somewhat works in gnome 2 although the top panel doesn't disappear.

Fullscreen programs
When I exit a wine program that was running in fullscreen mode, it leaves the cyan background (that you see if you use a virtual desktop in wine) over my window manager. To refresh the screen I have to do something like log out and back in, or press alt+ctrl+# to switch to another display and then switch back. Also, for some programs the window manager is left in a different resolution than I

ElastoMania in fullscreen?
I am running 'wine Elma.exe', and I get ElastoMania running smooth on my system, unfortunately only in a window. How can I get it running fullscreen? Preferrably pretty much like it runs on Windows. Thanks. -- Thomas Kalve Pedersen <thomas@krattet.no> World Leader Pretend.

Force window fullscreen
Hi all, I'm looking for a way to force a certain window on my desktop to go fullscreen. The window in question is from Enemy Territoy, it tries to go fullscreen, but for some reason doesn't work, and stay always redirected with obvious framerate slowdown (keep 6-7 fps average on a FX 5200). I was thinking something like xwinwrap, which you can call a process and force his window to

vesamenu fullscreen efi boot
When I boot to efi my splash screen is tiled, how do I make it not tile? Optimally I'd like it to expand the image to the size of the screen, is that possible?

Your best bet is to match your image size to the screen size. -- -Gene
