ICMP
After the recent attacks on the major servers on the web my ISP has
decided to stop all ICMP messages from his ISP.
I have red the RFCs and it seems that he cant do that... As a result
pings and traceroutes will not work.
I need a friendly person out there to tell me a way to break the news to
him that he has to allow ICMP packets
through his network... any suggestions would be helpfull

lost scroll wheel of Intellimouse Explorer 4.0 on 7.0-STABLE
Hello,
Today I updated my desktop PC from FreeBSD 7.0R to 7-STABLE. After
that, the scroll wheel of my Intellimouse Explorer 4.0 (USB wired)
stopped working.
I searched relevant information and found kern/123224 "[ums] Scroll
wheel breakage w/ USB MS Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0". The
symptom is quite similar.

Kernel crash
Hi everyone,
I updated the kernel from 3.10.0-514.16.1.el7.x86_64
to 3.10.0-693.2.2.el7.x86_64 . While I was following these steps
https://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Laptops/Wireless/Broadcom (I knew that I
needed to compile again everything) in order to activate WIFI, the laptop
crashed doing
# depmod -a
# modprobe wl
Noting that I replaced (naively) # depmod $(uname -r) from the guide

Re: IPMASQ and lock-up of all terminals ---- Sum mary and update
Well, last night, my box was hit again.. same symptoms:
All attempts to connect remotely receive a connection, but a login prompt
never comes up.
When I went to the console and turned on the monitor, I had the login
prompt, but written on to the screen was the message
IPMASQ: Reverse ICMP: Checksum error from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
So, on this occasion, I thought I would post a summary of the

[R} Getting 'tilting' confidence intervals in R
[Resend with proper subject line]
I am trying to compute bootstrap confidence intervals for a sample

I can get "Normal", "Basic", "Percentile", "BCa" and "ABC" from
boot.ci() and boot() in the Davison & Hinkley "boot" package.
But I can't figure out how to use tilt.boot() to get the

I've been playing fine for months with a couple of very minor issues.
Tuesday (August 5, 2008) Full Tilt did a software upgrade and I began receiving this message when trying to launch the software:

Using tilt in ActionView?
Hey friends,
I was wondering what is the current opinion on using tilt in
ActionView? Right now, there''s a lot of code in AV::Template/
TemplateHandler etc. which is nicely implemented in tilt. I''m
currently refactoring the AV layer (private interest ;-) using tilt
and it makes the whole thing much more readable and easier to follow.
What do you guys think?
I know there was a

pam_ldap + nss_ldap, su(1), group wheel and pam_group
Hello, Freebsd-security.
What is proper way to mix pam_ldap/nss_ldap (no users but root in local
files), su(1) and check for group `wheel'?
"files" source should have precedence over "ldap" in
/etc/nsswitch.conf, for changing user/group by daemons before full
network configuration, and for local "root" has priority over any
LDAP ones.

roll wheel on desktop to switch viewport
Hi. After some time using Quinn's Compiz I returned to Vanilla, which is
more stable to me. There's a feature I do miss from Quinn's package,
though, and it's the ability to change viewports by rolling the mouse
wheel over the desktop.
Would it be possible to mimic that behavior in Vanilla? Thanks in
advance.

Why app_rx and app_tx when we have IAXModem and Hylafax and hy-email2fax? Should we reinvent the wheel?
I'm just wondering here, in our community... Why not HylaFax for Fax
solutions?
I'm not saying bad about the big efforts on app_tx and app_rx with spandsp.
But as me and many other asterisk users, we find out that
Hylafax+IAXModem+Asterisk is very reliable.
And from what i've been testing and reading, Hylafax is an extremely

[LLVMdev] [LNT] Does LNT's mouse wheel zooming work well anywhere?
This is only a minor annoyance, but mouse wheel zooming on LNT graphs is pretty broken on at least OSX. It does not work correctly on Chrome, Safari or Firefox. On Safari and Chrome the zoom is way to sensitive, on Firefox, the page scrolls while mouse wheel zooming. This appears to be a limitation of the flot graphing package we use.
