(The flickering is not visible, cause it only show up while moving) [Image:

[WIP PATCH] dri/nouveau: Add S3TC support for nv20.
--- Hi, this is still WIP, but already passes piglit's s3tc-teximage, s3tc-texsubimage and fbo-generatemipmap-formats(s3tc tests) and even Wolfenstein:Enemy-Territory works on my nv25. It's based on Ben's newlib branch. I have few issues though: 1) So far it needs libtxc_dxtn, but I might expose the s3tc extensions even without encoder using driconf option - Is that desirable? 2)

Knights of the Old Republic 2 Texture problem
I was able to install the game without any issue, applied a nocd crack, and have attempted to run it. While the first few screens are fine, anything that involves 3d models look...well...weird. I have a screenshot: [Image: http://img231.imageshack.us/img231/8821/screenshotmt6.th.png ] (http://img231.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screenshotmt6.png)

Knights of the Old Republic Issue
I can't seem to get this game to work. It has been installed/updated fine, but every time I try to run it, there is an issue. It almost seems as if it keeps trying to change resolution, never actually becoming full screen and playable. Does anyone have a remedy to this issue? Thanks..

"driconf" to try to solve "texture size" problem with beryl+radeon+dualhead+mergefb
As some e-mails ago, I'm trying to play beryl in my laptop. I successfully configured my xorg.conf (thanks to the comunity for the help that allowed me that). The problem: When I boot the laptop without external LCD/CRT, beryl is working fine, but when I boot it with the external, it recognice fine the external LCD and don't want to allow beryl run. What beryl says: === BEGIN === $

Status of s3tc patent in respect to open-source drivers and workarounds
Hi radeonhd, nouveau, mesa3d developers, Firstly, thank you all very much for all the important work you do. I've been working as a part-time developer on the "Spring RTS" project (open-source game engine) which runs on linux (and other os). Some time ago I tried the engine on the open-source ATI radeonhd driver, which I understand to be partly based on mesa 3d, and all textures

3D part of the Godot engine
Hi! At http://www.godotengine.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1710&sid=f3de0009f9b706fa6e80d540afe6e544 are shown screenshots taken from Windows with the NVidia driver and from Linux with the Nouveau driver. I think to fix bugs in this case would be easier then let Unity- or Unreal-program run, because the Godot engine is OpenSource (MIT-license): https://github.com/okamstudio/godot So

_mesa_init_texture_s3tc() vs util_format_s3tc_init()
I am trying to understand the s3tc init code as nv50 gallium has a problem with that. It looks like some drivers (r300g and llvmpipe) actually inits s3tc in two places : ./src/mesa/main/texcompress_s3tc.c _mesa_init_texture_s3tc() ./src/gallium/auxiliary/util/u_format_s3tc.c util_format_s3tc_init() Here is an extract of the backtrace calls while loading fgfs on llvmpipe : driCreateScreen ->

Disabling S3TC support for Wine 1.1.14 How do I patch?
I may be an absolute noob for asking this, but I've been at this for about 3 hours now. So I've been trying to disable S3TC support so I can play this game without getting scrambled graphics. My search lead me to the code for a patch listed here http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=19211 My question is, what do I do with all that code? how do I get it into my current version? Do I

swap control
Is it possible to use sync to vblank / swap control with mesa/gallium (and nouveau) ? I googled it but did not find any clear answers about how it is supposed to be enabled. I also tried to read the code, and I am getting lost. So I didn't find any answers to any of these questions : 1) how are we supposed to enable it ? is there an env var , or ~/.drirc ? is drirc/driconf still valid with

running wine on windows
Howdy all, quick question. As you know, The knights of the old republic games have a hard time running on windows 7 effectively, and even harder on vista. I was wondering if you can run wine on windows? And if so, can you use it to run older programs that can't run on newer OS's? Finally, are there any instructions on using wine?

3D part of the Godot engine
I was also irked by these blanket statements, so I tested it myself. I reproduced the issue on Intel hardware (so it has nothing to do with nouveau!) and it was fixed by installing the s3tc library as Ilia suggested. So find out how you can install this library for your distribution. For Fedora the library can be found in the rpmfusion repo and is called libtxc_dxtn. Gerben On Mon, Mar 9, 2015

[LLVMdev] Stack protector performance
If you compile this with optimizations, then the 'canary()' function should be totally inlined into the 'main()' function. In that case, the cost of the stack protectors will be very small compared to the loop. -bw On Mar 9, 2012, at 2:52 AM, Job Noorman <jobnoorman at gmail.com> wrote: > I have a question about the performance of the implementation of the stack >

[LLVMdev] Stack protector performance
I have a question about the performance of the implementation of the stack protector in LLVM. Consider the following C program: ===== void canary() { char buf[20]; buf[0]++; } int main() { int i; for (i = 0; i < 1000000000; ++i) canary(); return 0; } ===== This should definately run slower when stack protection is enabled, right? I have measured the runtime of

Oblivion - Knights of the Nine & Shivering Isles
Greetings, my edition of Oblivion, GOTY in German, contains Knight of the Nine and Shivering Isles. Installation of Oblivion in wine required WinXP- see thread from 29.5.2011- but the game itself works fine. Nice game BTW. :) After finishing Oblivion i wanted to play the above mentioned additions. KotN was missing and for Shivering Isles i got this: http://www.triffids.de/pub/spiele/ob/ob4.jpg
