New game on Steam: Braid
Just so you guys know, there's a new game available on Steam that I would hope to see some development for Wine, which is this awesome puzzle game called Braid. http://braid-game.com/ It's a 2D side scroller, but it's so much more. I've played the demo on my brother's X-Box 360, but never could convince him that it was worth it to download. SO I was hoping I could stir up some

Problems running Braid with Gecko
Hi all. First time posting here.
I first did a search around the forums, but didn't find something similar to my problem.
I'm trying to run Braid full version on openSUSe using Wine and Gecko (Doors has been shutdown since a while, what a shame... And Gecko is the default configurator Suse installs).
Firstly Wine crashed with an error message due to an "unexpected error", then I

Heya,
I''ve just released script.aculo.us V1.5_pre1.

transparently.
* Fixed a condition where standard a href=xxx links wouldn''t work in
autocomplete results. These do now, the onclick event is not
cancelled. [thx to Jasper Slits]

New winetricks 20110417: new verbs braid braid_demo cod5_waw deadspace dotnet20sp2 dragonage_ue mise popfs splitsecond splitsecond_demo spore
Another fortnight, another Winetricks.
This release fixes a handful of bugs, and adds a handful of games
(or, really, ports them from wisotool). It also brings back the old
verb dotnet20sp2, since that seems to work with wine-1.3.18
(please let me know if it's useful).
It also adds a rudimentary gui to prompt for Steam username and password,
cleans up the --help message, and improves mac and

Power Law Exponents
I am having difficulty with the calculation of the power law exponent
for set of nodes within a graph.
Specifically, I am interested in the distribution of in-degree and
out-degree among communities of web pages where the web pages are the
nodes of the graph and the hyperlinks the edges.
According to the literature, the distribution of incoming and outgoing
links obeys a power law distribution

I have tried unsuccesfully to limit my ftp server send speed in linux.
I have an ipcop linux firewall/router with 2 nics. 1 nic (eth1) is
connected to a 3mbit/384Kbit cable connection and the other (eth0) a
switch. Behind it i have a suse linux box and a windows box.
On the suse box i run proftpd. I need to shape my passive ftp send
speed to 34KBytes because if it is maxed out at 45K

The Big List of Steam Games on GNU/Linux, the wiki!
Hello everyone!
I've spent the last couple of months working on a wiki that contains what the thread title says: a list of Steam games that are either native to GNU/Linux or are runnable in Wine, categorized by their AppDB rankings. A bunch of people at the Steam forums have been working on it, but it looks like a lot of people here use Steam to get their games, so it seemed to make sense to

patchless client on RHEL4
Is there instructions on how to use the patchless client on RHEL4 ?
For version 1.6.2
We would prefer a rpm, but we are not scared of doing a build if
needed.

Partial least squares.
Dear R-helpers,
I am looking, quite unsuccesfully, for a number of functions/packages.
Firstly, I am interested in a package for partial least squares. I have
found that there seemed to exist a package called pls, but which seems
not to run any more with modern versions of R. I have not been able to
find certain "chemometrics package" I found some people discussing about

Hosting Music for Free
I would like to be able to host music not by myself for free. The only
problem is, I can't find a place that will do it. When I want to share a
song with a forum, I am currently forced to use RapidShare, MegaUpload, or
UploadingIt, all of which causes problems for somebody. I would like to be
able to host a song, have a link to click on it, and it doesn't have to be
downloaded and cause

References of R in use
Dear R-users and expeRts,
can anyone provide me (and others as well, of course) with reference of
companies, scientific labs and/or schools where R is being used?
Or does some (even unofficial) list of comanies etc. where R is being used
exist?
I tried to find such an information on R's homepage and on a FAQ page, but
unsuccesfully.
(Of course, searching through this r-help conference one

global optimisation with inequality constraints
Dear All,
I would like to minimise a nonlinear function subject to linear inequality constraints as part of an R program. I have been using the constrOptim function. I have tried all of the methods that come with Optim, but nothing finds the correct solution. If I use the correct solution as the vector of starting values, though, my program does output the correct solution and optimum - the

insert a text in panels, always in the same position (lattice, ltext, ?prepanel?)
Dear R-users,
my present problem is related to lattice.
I would like to put some text in each panel, namely a p-value.
I therefore wrote a simple panel function as reported here below.
I'm able to write the value in each panel at the maximum value of y for
each panel,
but this obviously overlay the text to the points.
What I'm looking for is to write the text always in the same

NAT type router database?
Is anybody aware of a database containing the types of nat
implementation in todays soho/consumer routers? I think it would make
sense for the community to have this database in order to avoid
symmetric nats.
If one such thing does not exist how about starting this database?
A stunclient for linux can be found at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/stun/
